It is with the heaviest of hearts, that we mourn the passing of Dr. Ronald Lankford.
Dr. Lankford was an extraordinary educator, devoted friend, and unwavering champion for the children of our community. As the founder of the WCR7 Schools Foundation, he created a legacy rooted in service, vision, and a deep belief in the power of public education. Throughout his life, he tirelessly advocated for what was best for students, a commitment reflected in his esteemed career with the Webb City School District and his continued work with the Foundation—a mission from which he never retired.
Dr. Lankford was honored as one of our Distinguished Citizens and, alongside his wife Carolyn, established the Continuing the American Dream Scholarship, creating opportunities that will impact students for generations. His priorities were clear—faith, family, and education—and he lived those values every day.
An incredible historian, Dr. Lankford shared countless stories that not only preserved the rich history of our community but also revealed the genuine care, respect, and appreciation he had for the people whose lives he touched. His impact on Webb City will continue to be felt for generations
Rest easy in the arms of your Savior, Dr. Lankford. Thank you for being an extraordinary example to so many and for leading with wisdom, humility, and grace.
