Throwback Thursday: This is a colorized postcard of East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. The date and photographer are unknown. In the early days of the building, the library was held on the second floor. The Library consisted of a Reading Room, Stock Room, Board Room and an apartment for the Librarian. The first floor consisted of rented space for shops which generated income for the library. Two of the long-term tenants were Simmons Jewelry Store which held a spot on the first floor and the Wappingers Chronicle which occupied the basement.
