🎉 September 2 is Charla Dedmon Day in the City of Walters! 🎶
Today, the City of Walters is proud to recognize Ms. Charla Dedmon and celebrate her extraordinary 57 years of service to education, including the past 46 years serving the students and families of Walters Public Schools.
Throughout her remarkable career as an educator and choir director, Ms. Dedmon has touched generations of students—sharing not only her love of music, but also teaching confidence, discipline, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Her dedication has extended far beyond the classroom through countless performances, competitions, community programs, and years of service to Walters.
We are also incredibly proud of Walters Public Schools and the outstanding tradition of excellence its teachers, staff, and students continue to represent. Educators like Ms. Dedmon are a wonderful example of the lasting impact our school system has on our entire community.
In recognition of her remarkable career and contributions, Mayor Jonathan Morgan and the Walters City Council officially proclaimed September 2 of each year as “Charla Dedmon Day” in the City of Walters.
Congratulations, Ms. Dedmon, and thank you for 46 years of pouring into Walters students and for a lifetime devoted to education, music, and service. Your legacy will continue through generations. 💙🎶
