Main Responsibilities
The nurse supervisor would:
Provide vaccinations, TB testing, lead testing, and health screenings
Investigate communicable diseases and conduct follow-up reporting
Supervise and train staff
Coordinate school clinics
Manage lead case services and referrals
Maintain records, vaccine inventory, and regulatory compliance
Participate in emergency preparedness and public health emergency response
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
At least 2 years of public health nursing experience preferred
Must be 21+
CPR and TB certifications (or ability to obtain them)
Key Skills Needed
Knowledge of public health laws and nursing practices
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Ability to manage programs, staff, and budgets
Comfortable working with the public, including difficult situations
Ability to handle emergency response duties and occasional travel
Work Environment
Combination of clinic work, field visits, and community outreach
Requires some physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Exposure to normal healthcare/public health risks
May require evenings, weekends, and 24-hour emergency response availability
