Today, the OPCS team traded their work attire for costumes and a little Halloween fun! Staff showed off their creative side, arriving as minions, wizards, witches, and even a surprisingly friendly spider.

To celebrate, everyone gathered to enjoy burgers, hot dogs, sweet treats, and plenty of laughter. While every day at OPCS is focused on serving our clients and community, it's important to take time to celebrate the incredible staff who make that work possible.

The office was filled with great costumes, team spirit, and lots of smiles. We're grateful for our dedicated employees and all they do throughout the year to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and spooktacular Halloween! 🎃🦇🍬

Old Pueblo Community Services is excited to announce an expansion of our leadership team! Effective November 18, Jason Thorpe will join OPCS as Co-CEO, partnering with longtime CEO Tom Litwicki to accelerate our mission of ending homelessness.

Under Tom’s leadership, OPCS has experienced remarkable growth over the past 13 years, expanding housing, treatment, and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness throughout Tucson. This new leadership team builds on that strong foundation and reflects our continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community.

Jason brings extensive experience in housing and homelessness response, longstanding community relationships, and a deep commitment to the mission that has guided OPCS for decades. He most recently served as Deputy Director of Housing and Community Development for the City of Tucson.

Together, Tom and Jason will build on OPCS's 30-year legacy of service while exploring new opportunities to expand our impact across Southern Arizona.

Today, staff from IBM participated in United Way's Days of Caring by volunteering at Casa Del Pueblo, OPCS's low-barrier shelter. The IBM team went above and beyond, preparing a delicious brunch for our residents that included waffles, fresh fruit, sausage, and eggs. Their generosity, compassion, and culinary skills helped create a special morning for those we serve. Thank you to the IBM volunteers for choosing OPCS for your Days of Caring activity and for making a meaningful difference in our community!

We're excited to welcome veterans into our newly opened transitional housing facility. This milestone represents a new chapter of stability, support, and hope for those who have served our country.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) -- Homeless veterans started moving into a newly renovated midtown housing facility Wednesday designed to provide safety and stability.

10/15/2026

On Monday, OPCS celebrated the grand opening of our Veterans Transitional Housing Center. The newly expanded and renovated center will provide veterans with safe housing, supportive services, and the resources needed to achieve stability, independence, and a brighter future.

We were honored to hear speeches from OPCS Board Member Marc Rolfes, Mayor Regina Romero, County Supervisor Andrés Cano of District 5, Tucson Council Member Miranda Schubert of Ward 6, and OPCS CEO Tom Litwicki. These leaders of our community joined us to share about the new center and the impact OPCS has made on the veterans community here in Pima County. Our final speaker, program participant Juan Telano, shared his experience as a Navy Veteran that found housing and stability through the veterans program at OPCS.

The ribbon was cut to commemorate the grand opening, which has raised the capacity of beds from 23 to 41. OPCS is extremely thankful for the support we’ve received to provide essential services, housing, and case management to our veteran clients.

Today, the Pima Alano Club hosted its first annual Community Outreach Resource Fair and invited OPCS to share information about our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and recovery services.
The Pima Alano Club serves as an important hub where individuals in recovery can build meaningful connections, access resources, and strengthen their support networks. OPCS is honored to be part of that journey and grateful for the opportunity to further connect with and support our community. Thank you to the Pima Alano Club for bringing together organizations and individuals dedicated to recovery, wellness, and hope.
