The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded new contracts for projects in the agency’s east-central district.
In Richmond County, E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. has been awarded a $2.18 million project to make operational improvements to Interstate 520/Bobby Jones Expressway Exit 7/Windsor Spring Road, Peach Orchard Road.
The I-520 eastbound exit ramp onto Windsor Spring Road will be widened to provide two eastbound through lanes and a dedicated left-turn lane onto Windsor Spring Rd.
US 25/SR 121/Peach Orchard Rd. northbound will be restriped to provide a dual left turn lane onto the I-520 westbound entrance ramp.
A right-turn lane will be installed on Windsor Spring Rd. southbound for traffic turning onto the I-520 westbound entrance ramp.
A left-turn lane will be installed for traffic turning onto Windsor Spring Rd. southbound from I-520 westbound.
A completion date of October 31, 2027 has been given.
In Richmond County, E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. has been awarded a $2.74 million project to resurface more than four miles of State Route 56/Mike Padgett Highway, between To***co Road and US 25/SR 121/Peach Orchard Rd. A completion date of June 30, 2027 has been given.
In Baldwin and Wilkinson counties, Moye Electric Company, Inc. has been awarded a $2.63 million project to make pedestrian upgrades at various signalized intersections. This project is expected to improve pedestrian mobility by providing pedestrian platforms, wheelchair ramps, pedestrian signals, and crosswalk striping.
The following intersections will be upgraded. In Baldwin County: SR 24 & Lakeside Dr., SR 24 & Garrett Way, SR 24 & Hammock Rd., SR 24 & Heritage Walk Plaza, SR 24 & Roberson Mill Rd./Dunlap Rd., SR 24 & Heritage Pl., SR 24 & Heritage Rd., SR 24 & Log Cabin Rd. NE, SR 24 & MLK Dr., SR 22/SR 24 & Kings Rd./Old Sarasota Rd., SR 29 & SR 29 Bus. In Wilkinson County: SR 29 & SR 57.
A completion date of December 31, 2027 has been given.
In Dodge County, The Scruggs Company has been awarded a $1.32 million project to resurface nearly five miles of State Route 230, between the Pulaski County line and State Route 87. A completion date of June 30, 2027 has been given.
In Richmond County, E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. has been awarded a $1.23 million project to resurface about two miles of State Route 88, between Windsor Spring Rd. and US 25/SR 121. A completion date of June 30, 2027 has been given.
