Vote NO on all state initiatives! "Washington has the second most regressive tax system in the country, where the bottom 20% of earners pay 10.9% of their income in taxes, and the top 1% pay only 1.6%. This is not a fair and sustainable economy.

In states that have specifically taxed wealth and higher income, there is no flight of the rich. That is another made-up story to protect the wealthy from paying their share. We have had enough of the rich dictating what is real and what isn’t."

You deserve a sheriff who respects the people and the laws of Pierce County and Washington State. ⚖️ We believe our community will benefit the most from a nation-wide search for the best leader, focused on qualifications, public safety, and experience. That's why we are voting to Approve 53!

The County Charter gives the people the ultimate authority to decide how our government is structured. Under our original Charter in 1980, the Sheriff was appointed, and that system remained in place for 26 years with bipartisan support!

Read and share this Op-Ed from one of our long-time members! 👀"The Seattle Times, perhaps concerned about Birk’s successes taking on corporations, concocted a runaway story challenging Birk’s ethical standing in the legal community. Their lopsided coverage of this race shows their own partisanship and their own concern for corporate interests."

Make sure you turn in our ballots and check out our voter guide for more info on the state supreme court!

As someone who spent his life and career striving to help the disadvantaged, I was disappointed when Sean O’Donnell was endorsed by the Seattle Times over Ian Birk. From a progressive standpoint, Birk’s record is far superior to O’Donnell’s. The Seattle Times, perhaps concerned about Birk’...

Even law enforcement knows we need a Sheriff who serves the community, not his own political agenda. 🗳️ An appointed Sheriff allows the County to conduct a national search to find a highly qualified Sheriff focused on public safety, accountability, and experience.

The Sheriff was an appointed position for 26 years, and we saw Sheriffs demonstrate a professional approach to leadership.

Let's vote to Approve Amendment 53 and hire a Sheriff that brings respect and dignity to the position.

Even small and nonprofit landlords agree: vote YES on Tacoma Measure 1. Don't let large corporate landlords and billionaires buy this election.

The state board that certifies police officers opened seven cases against Sheriff Swank, covering alleged discrimination, dishonesty, and ethics and professionalism violations.

A King County judge wrote that Sheriff Swank appears to have altered text messages he turned over to a public records officer, removing ones that could be seen as offensive.

And what have Swank's legal battles cost the Pierce County taxpayers? Up to $16,000 in documented outside counsel, plus undisclosed hours from four county attorneys estimating a total between $100,000 to $350,000.

Pierce County should not have to wait for accountability.

A mom and retired detective who investigated child abuse explains how I-001 gives abusive parents access to their child's confidential school records, exposing already vulnerable kids to even more harm.

Hundreds of educators, counselors, domestic violence experts, doctors, nurses, community organizations, and more are urging voters to reject this harmful ballot measure.

Vote NO on I-001 by November 3rd.
