Dogs For Our Brave, Inc. Our service dogs enhance the lives of the veterans they serve.

Founded in 2014, DFOB's mission is to provide professionally trained service dogs at no cost to wounded veterans who have honorably served our country. Our veterans volunteered to serve and protect our freedom, we now serve to help them regain theirs through a holistic approach focused on mind, body, spirit and relationship building. We utilize rescue dogs at every opportunity with no financial bu

rden to the veteran, ever, through a continuum of care. This disciplined approach provides the opportunity for our dogs to assist veterans in their healing journey, challenging them daily to be the best version of themselves.

Today's goes out to not one, but two special groups from SWANK. We were blessed to have seen this office group ✨TWICE ✨ last month!

If you are a repeat volunteer, or just volunteering at DFOB for the first time with SWANK Gives Back, we are so grateful for your efforts in maintaining the building's cleanliness. Whether cleaning 🧼, cutting back yard shrubbery 🌿, or organizing the building- all of your support is greatly valued!

Happy Lab-or Day Weekend (as the dogs would say it)! Including all working dogs in the field! 🦮

Make sure you are keeping your pets & working dogs safe this weekend! Here are some helpful tips!
Please remember:

1. Never feed your pet any cooked bones. ☠️
2. Monitor the trash! Any corn cobs, skewers, and bones can cause a bowel obstruction and be life threatening to your pet. 🌽
3. Beware of overheating! Make sure your pet has plenty of shade, fresh water and the ability to hang out in the AC when needed. ☀️
4. Beware of toxic foods and chemicals! Keep all things out of reach for your pet.🧅
5. Monitor your grill to avoid any burns! 🔥

If you run into any of these issues, please remember to visit your nearest emergency clinic!

💜 September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

For too many veterans, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. The visible and invisible wounds of service can affect every part of life—and no veteran should have to face those struggles alone.

At Dogs For Our Brave, we witness the powerful difference a professionally trained service dog can make. These dogs provide more than assistance with daily tasks. They offer companionship, purpose, confidence and a steady presence through difficult moments—helping veterans regain greater independence and reconnect with the world around them.

This month, we stand with veterans, their families and all those impacted by su***de.

Your life matters. Your story matters. And asking for help is a sign of strength.

This week's we are in need of canned chicken for our dogs in training! 🍗

Our service dogs in training use chicken in many different ways such as, high valued treats, toppers for meals, a bland diet when they aren't feeling well, or even using the juice for administering medication for those pickier pups!
