The Southern View Elementary School will be hosting Trunk or Treat at the school on Tuesday October 27th from 6-7 pm. They are needing cars for this event. If you want to be a part of their event, be at the school at 4:30 pm and they will help decorate your vehicle and if you have candy, bring some along. They have plenty of candy to give out.

A really nice little resident found the doll pictured below. If you left one at Southern View Community Park by the playground stop by the Police Department and claim her. If there is no officer present call the phone number on the front door to have an officer respond.

I want to remind all drivers that it is illegal to pass a school bus while loading and unloading with the red lights and stop arm out. We have had a recent uptick on drivers by Southern View Elementary School that seemed to have forgotten about the law.
If the red lights are on and stop sign is out-STOP until they finish loading or unloading students. Fines are high and you can face a 3-month suspension of your Driver's License. Lets keep the children safe and follow the law.

Trunk or Treat was a busy event, we saw so many families and kids ready For Halloween. Scooby and Scrappy AKA Officer Novy (Community Relations Officer) passing out candy at the event.
Remember if you see something say something and call-don't think someone else called or will call, please call yourself. 911 for emergencies and 217-753-6666 Non-Emergency.
