It was great to attend Kings Park Day and spend time with so many residents, families, local businesses, and community organizations.

Events like this showcase the strong community spirit that makes Smithtown such a special place to live, work, and raise a family.

Yesterday, Smithtown officially kicked off its America 250 celebration plans with a press conference highlighting a historic lineup of events, installations, and partnerships leading up to our nation’s 250th birthday.

Special thanks to Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, the Suffolk 250 Committee and Kristin McKay for their leadership and support, along with Smithtown’s America 250 Committee, the Smithtown Historical Society, Dream Events, and our premier sponsors, including Reworld.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the Smithtown Central School District and Dr. Mark Secaur for their partnership as we work toward the restoration and preservation of the historic Arthur House — a treasured connection to the Culper Spy Ring, the American Revolution, and Smithtown’s place in our nation’s founding story.

From the Flags of the American Revolution installation to the July 3rd Concert & Drone Show and July 4th Parade & Historic Celebration, Smithtown is proud to honor our history in a big way. 🇺🇸

Do you know a young person interested in a career in law enforcement?

The Suffolk County Executive’s Youth Police Academy is offering a FREE 5-day program for boys and girls ages 14–17 to experience firsthand what it takes to become a police officer.

Participants will learn about law enforcement, leadership, teamwork, and the responsibilities of serving their community while training alongside members of the Suffolk County Police Department.

This past Sunday, I had the honor of attending the Flag Day Ceremony at the Smithtown Elks Lodge. Flag Day commemorates June 14, 1777, when the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the Stars and Stripes as the flag of the United States. It serves as a reminder of our nation’s history and the ideals of freedom, unity, and patriotism that our flag represents.

Thank you to the Smithtown Elks for hosting this meaningful event and for their continued dedication to our community and country. It was a privilege to join fellow residents in recognizing and honoring the Stars and Stripes.
