Our Commercial Photography students have been getting creative with ghost photography! Using camera techniques, lighting, and a little imagination, students transformed ordinary spots around campus into haunting scenes. This fun Halloween-themed project challenged students to experiment with composition and tell a story through their photos!

A little whispering can lead to some BIG learning! 📚🗣️

English I students in Ms. Crutchfield’s class practiced whisper reading while exploring an informational text. Working with partners, students took turns reading aloud while their listeners followed along and identified each section's main idea. Readers then added to or clarified their partner’s thinking, helping both students build a stronger understanding of the text.

This activity strengthened reading fluency, active listening, speaking, collaboration, and critical thinking while giving students, including multilingual learners, a supportive, low-pressure opportunity to practice reading aloud.

Sometimes the best learning happens through quiet conversations and shared thinking! 💡

🍞💙 SHS CORNBREAD DRIVE! 💙🍞
All throughout October, HOSA & NHS will be hosting a Cornbread Drive to help families in need in our community! Every box of cornbread collected will go toward providing Thanksgiving dinners for local families. 🦃🤍
And of course, we’re making it a competition! 👀🏆 The grade level that collects the MOST boxes of cornbread will earn points toward the Captain’s Cup! 🏴‍☠️

🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️ SUPERHEROES AGAINST DRUGS! 💥

Shepherd High School kicked off Red Ribbon Week today with some SUPER school spirit! Our students and staff showed off their superpowers by dressing as their favorite superheroes to spread an important message: We all have the power to say NO to drugs! ❤️💙

It was a great start to a week filled with fun, awareness, and positive choices!

This week students in Construction Management 1 started a big new build. This will be an 8x16’ chicken coop. There are two class groups on this project. The design is mostly a mirror image so it can serve as a bit of a competition to see who can do their half faster and better!

💗 PINK OUT DAY AT SHEPHERD HIGH SCHOOL! 💗

Our Pirates were showing off their school spirit and sporting their pink in support of Pink Out Day! 🎀

It was great to see our students come together, spread awareness, and show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
