🚔 SHPD Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest

The other evening, an SHPD K-9 officer and his K-9 partner, Maui, conducted a traffic stop after observing multiple traffic violations. During the interaction, the officer observed signs of possible narcotics use, prompting further investigation.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of narcotics and a fi***rm. The driver was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Fi***rm by a Felon.

The Shenandoah Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement and keeping our community safe.

Yesterday, we shared details of one of two DWI arrests made by SHPD officers in a single day. In the second incident, an SHPD officer observed a vehicle being driven on multiple flat tires. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and further investigation resulted in the driver's arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

Two separate incidents. Two DWI arrests. Our officers remain committed to proactive enforcement and keeping Shenandoah's roadways safe for everyone.

🚔 Drink. Drive. Go to jail

An SHPD officer conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a driver for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) following an investigation.

This arrest was one of two separate DWI arrests made by SHPD officers that day. Our officers remain vigilant on our roadways, working to identify impaired drivers and help keep our community safe.

Remember: If you drink, don't drive. Make the responsible choice and get home safely.

🚔 A Reminder That Speaks for Itself 🚔

SHPD officers responded to an attempt-to-locate call regarding a vehicle traveling on a flat tire. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, discovering it was operating on two flat tires. During the encounter, the driver exhibited signs of intoxication.

Following an investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

In an ironic twist, officers also noticed a “Don’t Drink and Drive” shirt inside the vehicle. Sometimes, the message is right there in front of you.

Remember: If you drink, don't drive. Make responsible choices and help keep our roads safe.

After nearly 30 years of service to the City of Shenandoah, Police Chief Troye Dunlap will retire this December.

Chief Dunlap has served Shenandoah since 1997, including the past six years as Chief of Police. We are grateful for his leadership and dedicated service to our City and residents.

The other day, an SHPD K-9 Officer and his partner, K-9 Maui, located a vehicle on Interstate 45 associated with a wanted individual.

The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was taken into custody without incident on an outstanding felony warrant for Sexual Assault.

Another solid team effort by our officers and K-9 units keeping wanted offenders off our streets. 🚔🐕‍🦺
