Elliott Fiscal Court to receive new restroom in Laurel Curves

Through a Cleaner Water Grant applied for by Judge Lewis, and approved by the fiscal court, Elliott County was awarded $156,716 toward a new prefabricated restroom to be placed on the kayak parking lot in the Laurel Curves.

This restroom will be a primitive facility as seen at state and national parks around the U.S. It will serve nature enthusiasts, kayakers, fishermen/women, and others who come to enjoy our beauty down in the curves for many years to come.

We want to thank Governor Beshear, the Finance & Administration Cabinet, the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (KIA), and FIVCO's grant administration for this award. We look forward to opening this facility once it arrives in 4-6 months after construction is complete!

Elliott Fiscal Court Breaks Ground on EOC, 911 Dispatch, and Fire Department

On June 2, 2026, the Elliott Fiscal Court held a groundbreaking ceremony to begin the construction of an 80' x 120' EOC, 911 Dispatch, and Fire Department. This project was part a $4,600,000 AMLER Grant that was applied for in 2022.

We want to thank Congressman Hall Rogers, Governor Andy Beshear, Secretary of Energy & Environmental John Lyons, Commissioner James Cable, John Montgomery, Andrea Thacker, FAHE, FIVCO, Eric Patton, Jim Skaggs, Tony Griffith, and Brian Gillum. Without each of your efforts, this project would still be just a dream.

Allen Construction of West Liberty will be the contractor for this project.

Attention Dicks Branch Travelers

The road will be closed at the bridge tomorrow morning for the replacement. This will begin around 8:30am. Our plan is to hopefully have the tile put in and have the road travelable by tomorrow evening.

After countless meetings, submittals, calls, along with dotting I's & crossing T's, on June 2nd at 10am, the Elliott County Fiscal Court will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for our new Emergency Operation Center, 911 Dispatch, and Fire Department.

The public and media are invited to attend! Thank you so much for your support!!
