The city has once again replaced the no parking signs in front of the library. This time the Sheriff's Office has installed cameras to monitor them. If anyone is caught damaging, removing, or otherwise vandalizing these signs, you will be criminally prosecuted and fined $500 dollars.

Kentucky State Police Post 11 Enhances Public Safety With Promotion of Six Troopers and Officers

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 6, 2025) – Today, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) recognized 64 troopers and officers who have been promoted into leadership roles, including two majors, 11 captains, 20 lieutenants and 31 sergeants dedicated to protecting the commonwealth. KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett Jr. and Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman presented plaques commemorating the service of those who were recently promoted to their new roles during a ceremony in Frankfort.

Commissioner Burnett commended the group for their professionalism and perseverance, reminding them that true leadership is measured by the example they set: “Leadership isn’t defined by rank but by responsibility. It means guiding others with integrity and ensuring that those you lead have the support to succeed. I’m confident each of you will uphold the proud tradition of service that defines the Kentucky State Police.”

Recipients from the Post 11 area include:

Lt. Robert Purdy was promoted to captain and is assigned to Post 11, London.

Sgt. Glenn Perry was promoted to lieutenant and is assigned to the Drivers Testing Branch.

Sgt. Steve Smallwood was promoted to lieutenant and is assigned to Post 11, London.

Sgt. Joshua Wilson was promoted to lieutenant and is assigned to Post 11, London.

Tpr. Mahala Lewis was promoted to sergeant and is assigned to Post 11, London.

Tpr. Shakori Needham was promoted to sergeant and is assigned to Post 11, London.

Post 11 Commander Robert Purdy said, “Each of these leaders exemplifies dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to serving the Commonwealth.”

Reynolds is now in custody!

The Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead, is requesting the public’s help locating Kevin Reynolds, of Elliott County.

Reynolds has active warrants for his arrest for Strangulation 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kevin Reynolds is urged to contact Trooper Wes Montgomery at KSP Post 8 (606) 784-4127 or your local law enforcement agency.

KSP is currently seeking the public's help in locating Alaina "Jade" Gevedon in reference to an assault that occurred today in Morgan County. If you know her whereabouts please call KSP at 606-784-4127. This case remains under investigation by Trooper Jonathan Rouse.

Stephen Middleton, 51 is wanted on multiple charges, including Failure to Comply with S*x Offender Registry and Theft by Unlawful Taking. Mr. Middleton is the suspect in several recent robberies in our County and surrounding counties.
