Happy Archives Month!

On August 21st, 1965 Ike and Tina Turner headlined a show at the New Cocoanut Grove Ballroom here in Sacramento. They and many other iconic artists have been memorialized on a new mural at Fruitridge & Franklin by artist Erick Ortega [].
✨
The Special Collections and University Archives here at Sac State also holds a collection of rock 'n' roll posters from the 1960s to present day - including this poster from that concert!
✨
These and many more posters can be viewed online in our Digital Collections under the "Sacramento Rock and Radio Collection".
