This month, we're celebrating Arnie, who has been volunteering for over 14 years as the human partner of a Read to a Dog team alongside his pup Nixie. Arnie is more than a volunteer; he is a library ambassador. We are so grateful to have him and Nixie on our team. Learn how you can volunteer with the library at https://bit.ly/4vzViLT

Libraries come alive with the community and their stories. One of our patrons shared these photos of the North Highlands-Antelope Library under construction. We were touched to have this memento last weekend as we celebrated 25 years of service at this location.

Over the years, the neighborhood has repeatedly rallied to preserve its local library, starting in the 1980s, when the branch was at risk of closing, and continuing through the 1990s. Our current location on Antelope Road is the product of years of advocacy and planning and is a testament to the community’s resilience and spirit.
