Alyssa van Doorn and Jon Atwood attended the 2026 Esri Infrastructure Management & GIS Conference (IMGIS) this week, where they presented on bringing LiDAR data into the field and how those tools are supporting day-to-day work at VELCO.

Their presentation generated thoughtful discussion and positive feedback from conference attendees.

Congratulations to Alyssa and Jon on a successful presentation and for sharing their expertise with industry peers. Opportunities like these allow our team to exchange ideas, learn from others, and contribute to conversations about how utilities can continue adapting and enhancing operations as the electric grid evolves.

We had a great time connecting with our community at the recent Vermont Tech Jam!

Events like this are a great opportunity to share what VELCO does to keep Vermont’s electric grid safe, reliable and affordable, connect with job seekers and students exploring career opportunities, and highlight our open positions. It’s also a reminder that these events can lead to meaningful connections - one of our own team members first connected with VELCO at Tech Jam two years ago before joining us!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about VELCO and to our employees who represented our team Lucia Boatman, Jarrod Harper, Zachary Rice, and Mohammad Abdolvahab. We’re always excited to connect with the next generation of talent and share the work we do to power Vermont.

🍂 We had the perfect fall weather for a spooktacular day at Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum’s Trunk or Treat! From the creative costumes to all the smiling faces, it was such a fun way to celebrate the season and connect with our local community.

A big thank-you to our VELCO volunteers, Tina, Dennis, Chris, and Mike, for helping make our VELCO trunk a success! We’re grateful for employees who take the time to show up and represent VELCO at events like these.

Wishing everyone a fun and festive spooky season! Have a great Halloween and stay safe while enjoying all the festivities! 🎃

Two days, one shared goal: investing in our people.

VELCO recently brought employees together for two days of learning, connection and growth. Our Safety Summit featured a keynote speaker and hands-on demonstrations, including fire extinguisher training, line crew pole-top rescue and drone demonstrations.

The following day, our Staff Development Day offered opportunities to explore topics like nutrition, work-life balance, retirement planning and more.

Of course, no great VELCO gathering is complete without delicious meals and this time a visit from the ice cream truck!

A huge thank-you to both planning teams for bringing these days to life, and to all the employees who participated and made them so meaningful. At the end of the day, investing in our people is one of the most important things we can do. Our people are our greatest asset, and we're better when we learn and grow together.

Join Vermont and New Hampshire Energy Education Program (VEEP and NHEEP) for an Open House this fall!

VEEP is excited to host an open house on Tuesday October 27! If you'd like to see the equipment we're bringing to schools, or ask us questions about our programs, or just generally wishing you could spend an afternoon turning cranks and playing with color changing cups, please come see us!

We'll have all our equipment out to play with, staff on hand to answer your questions, and some great snacks.

This is a great opportunity to get a teacher at your child's school to come see what we offer, or bring someone from your energy committee, or a local business (or a legislator!) you think should know about our work.
