What began as an ordinary day at a soccer field quickly became a life-threatening emergency when a 46-year-old man went into cardiac arrest. His survival depended on a coordinated response and the care he received in the minutes that followed.
Pafford EMS crews worked together to provide high-quality CPR, deliver six defibrillations, and administer advanced life support. With a supervisor on scene supporting the team, everyone remained focused on providing the best possible care throughout the resuscitation.
After the resuscitation and hospital care, he was able to walk out of the hospital and return to his family.
This case highlights why high-quality CPR and early defibrillation are so critical in cardiac arrest emergencies. Every minute matters, and prompt action, continued training, and teamwork can make a life-saving difference. Behind every cardiac arrest is a person with family and friends waiting for them to come home, and this time, he got to do just that.
