Three arrested following overnight shooting.
Ruston, LA. — August 26, 2026 — At approximately 10:30 p.m. on August 25, 2026, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots fired in the area of Stable Road and Derby Drive.
Deputies responded to the area and located an individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Joe Cahee, a resident of the area.
During the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that Cahee and Salina Sampson were involved in a child custody exchange at the time of the incident. Sampson was accompanied by her brother and boyfriend. An altercation occurred during the exchange, at which time fi****ms were produced and multiple shots were fired. Cahee was the only individual struck by gunfire.
Cahee was transported to Northern Louisiana Medical Center for treatment and was later transported to a nearby trauma facility for continued medical care.
As the investigation progressed, detectives located and interviewed three individuals identified as DeMarco Hendricks, 23; Brian Fisher, 21; and Salina Sampson, 25.
Following interviews and further investigative efforts, all three individuals were booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
Brian Fisher was booked on:
One count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder
One count of Obstruction of Justice
DeMarco Hendricks was booked on:
Two counts of Obstruction of Justice
One count of Accessory After the Fact to Attempted Second-Degree Murder
Salina Sampson was booked on:
Two counts of Obstruction of Justice
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

“Violence involving fi****ms continues to be a serious concern in our communities, and incidents like this demonstrate the importance of having dedicated law enforcement officers who are willing to work through the night and follow every lead. The men and women of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office worked tirelessly to identify those involved and hold them accountable. We will continue to aggressively investigate acts of violence and do everything within our authority to deter further violence and protect the citizens we serve.”
