Floyd County 4-H celebrated an incredible year of growth, leadership, and achievement at our annual 4-H Awards Ceremony!

A huge thank you to the Chattooga/Floyd County Cattleman’s Association for generously providing dinner for the evening, as well as presenting Floyd County 4-H with a $500 donation to support our programs and members. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support of our youth and community.

During the evening we recognized members from our Livestock and specialty clubs, honored our District Project Achievement (DPA) participants for their hard work and dedication, and celebrated our graduating Seniors - Lee Donahue, Abby Moon, and Joe Rutledge- as they prepare for their next chapter.

A special congratulations goes to our Senior LifeSmarts Team for their outstanding accomplishment of winning the National LifeSmarts Championship! Their teamwork, knowledge, and dedication have represented Floyd County 4-H in an amazing way, and we could not be prouder.

We were also proud to present Senior Scholarships to Lee Donahue and Abby Moon in recognition of their outstanding involvement and commitment to Floyd County 4-H. Congratulations to both of these deserving Seniors!

Thank you to our families, volunteers, supporters, and community partners who help make these opportunities possible for our students each year. Here’s to another great year of “Making the Best Better!”

💚🍀 Floyd County 4-H Making the Best Better — At Home and Across Georgia! 🍀💚

Did you know that not only do our Floyd County 4-H Youth Development professionals serve the youth of Floyd County, but they also work hard to help “make the best better” all across the state by leading and participating in meaningful professional development? We’re grateful to see their dedication recognized at last week’s Georgia Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (GAE4-HYDP) State Meeting!

We’d like to give a heartfelt shoutout to Ms. Abbie, who helped coordinate a meeting of more than 120 4-H Youth Development professionals from across Georgia. That’s no small task, and we’re thankful for her leadership and commitment to the program.

Ms. Abbie and Ms. Carma also shared their work through a poster highlighting the Floyd County Butterfly Project and were honored with the NAE4-HYDP State Promotional Package Team Award for the 4-H Family Dinner Project.

In addition, Ms. Abbie was part of a team recognized for the State Winning Excellence in Workforce Development Program and received the Spirit of Allie Griner Award, reflecting her heart for service and 4-H.

Both Ms. Abbie and Ms. Carma contributed to the conference by teaching professional development sessions on a wide range of topics—from 🐰 rabbits to 💼 professional branding—helping strengthen programs across the state.

We’re also proud to share that Ms. Abbie was inducted as the new GAE4-HYDP President, and Ms. Amy Smith, a dedicated Floyd County 4-H Certified Volunteer, was recognized as the NW District Outstanding Individual Volunteer Leader.

We are grateful for this team and their willingness to serve not only our local youth, but also the broader 4-H community. Thank you for representing Floyd County so well! 💚
