Connection is su***de prevention. So true.

You may not always know what someone is experiencing. A check-in, a listening ear, a number shared at the right moment, can make a real difference. starts with connection.

There is just something special about our Maggie! She brings out the best in everyone.

Chiquito came to work on Friday too. He did so much better at not running to hide all day, but you could definitely tell he’s still scared.

These students do amazing with our rescue pups. We raise the best pups because they are loved by the best kids!

What were we thinking? 😂

Thursdays are going to be hoppin’ this year. We saw 3rd, 4th, 5th, and kinder for library time on Thursday. Not to mention that 1st and 2nd grade check in and check out EVERY day. We may need a little extra Pineview love (Pineview Coffee Company) on Thursdays.

We have now practiced library procedures and emergency drills with all elementary classes. We are set for a safe year.

From 11-Noon on Thursday is our Library Family Time as well. Bring your little ones to enjoy play, learning, and growing with others. Bonus is that adults get a village to help with caregiver duties for at least one hour and conversation with actual adults! (No offense to little people, but adults need engagement too!)

Second grade students did a great job going over procedures and drills yesterday.

This year, they are coming with Mrs. Palacio at the end of the day when Miss Davis goes to junior high athletics. We are so thankful that she supports, encourages, and has high expectations for these young learners. And, she has always been a library advocate!

Here’s to a great year, second graders!

Our PreK-4 and 1st grade class learned more about library procedures today and practiced so that they can have the BEST library experience all year long!

They also introduced themselves to Miss Kiya in fun ways and learned a little about their new Childrens librarian. She was pretty awesome with names, and the kiddos were totally impressed.

Ask your PreK kid what their motion was yesterday. We used motions connected to names to help activate memory! Mrs. Satterfield was mind-blowing, Miss Kiya was opening a book.

Your first grader can tell you what they said they like most about FIRST GRADE! Drew Franco’s list was a heart touching tribute to everything he loves about his little life, family, friends, and library. When he said that he loves his librarians and his library, I think my heart may have melted just a little.

Sorry parents… Taking a picture with the magnetic people sweet Penny was playing with during library time proved to be a terrible idea. They were definitely more worried about their people connecting than taking a picture! 😂 Not a single picture had everyone looking.

We all practiced what we do and where we go if we are in the library during an emergency drill.
-Lockdown
-Shelter
-Secure
-Fire
We are ready!

What a blessed day to love, serve, and engage with these little learners. It’s going to be a great year!
