Gilmer Memorial Library As both a public library and a school library, the Claud H. The Claud H.

Gilmer Memorial Library, located in Rocksprings, TX, is pleased to provide service to both the Rocksprings Community and the Rocksprings Independent School District. Due to the unique characteristics of our community, we offer materials and public library services to residents, long-term visitors, and frequent guests. Our materials collection is made up of books for all ages, Texana (stories, historical records, and other related books relating to Texas) books, Spanish/English books, Spanish books, magazines, and family resources. We also provide our patrons access to many digital resources including eBooks (electronic books), audiobooks, multiple subscription services, and databases for use in research and learning. These resources can be accessed through our website, and can be used anywhere patrons have Internet access. In addition to materials, the main library offers comfortable seating areas and work spaces equipped with public use computers, self-serve printing, iPads, coffee bar, health station, and a courtesy device charging station. Patrons can access free wireless Internet on all library computers and devices or use their own personal devices. Other areas within the library include public restrooms, a toddler learning area with a computer, children's story-time area, and an additional room for distance learning opportunities.

Wow! What a morning!

We were so blessed to have Cecily Iselt bring mats, wedges, stepping stones, beams, cones, and an excited little helper (@ Carter) to provide a soft play and exploration experience for our babies and tots.

We even got to see sweet Wylie stand solid for the first time! How cool is that?

We know the rain kept some of you inside, but we hope that you will watch for this special pop-up in the future.

No worries if your little one is not ready for complex movements. This is about age-appropriate movements and exploring together with your little one.

Get those toddlers here next time for a brief mommy and me stretch and explore movement session with Mrs. Cecily.

Mini Movers: Balance, Bend, & STRETCH

Looking for a fun way to burn some energy with your little one while building important motor skills?

Join us tomorrow during our regular Babies & Tots Family Playtime for a special pop-up session.

Mini-Movers: Balance, Bend, and Stretch!

This pop up opportunity is designed just for little ones to practice coordination, test their balance, and enjoy some healthy stretching through playful movement stations. No tumbling required, just lots of wiggles, giggles, and big stretches!

📆 When: Thursday from 11:00 AM – Noon
📍 Where: Gilmer library during Family Playtime

This is a perfect activity for little ones and their grown-ups to enjoy exploring movement!

It is entirely free and newcomers are welcome! Grab your little mover and come stretch with us!

📚TOUR DE LIBRARY: Texas Hill Country Edition! 🌵

Calling all rural libraries in the Texas Hill Country!

What if we spent a day hitting the road, exploring neighboring rural libraries, sharing ideas, and celebrating the unique ways our libraries serve their communities?

The Claud H. Gilmer Memorial Library is looking for rural library partners interested in participating in a TOUR DE LIBRARY!

We envision a day of travel, discovery, and connection as we make our way through participating libraries across the Hill Country. Each stop would offer an opportunity to:

📚 Explore library spaces, collections, and creative uses of resources.

💡 Share innovative programs, partnerships, challenges, and successes.

🤝 Connect with fellow rural librarians who understand the opportunities and realities of serving small communities.

🌟 Celebrate the incredible work happening in rural libraries, often with limited staffing, funding, and resources but unlimited creativity and commitment!

This isn't about having the biggest building, the newest technology, or the fanciest programs. It's about learning from one another, building relationships, and discovering what's possible when rural libraries connect!
