Another week has gone, and another checkpoint has arrived! So far, we have raised $11,236 in this journey, and we cannot wait to see how much more we raise in these last two weeks.

If you haven’t joined, it’s still not too late to start! At a brisk pace, you can walk 3 miles in 1-2 hours every day and still reach the goal of 42.5 miles.

Early Voting is officially open! 🇺🇸 From now until Friday, October 30th, you can visit any early voting location to cast your vote ahead of Election Day on November 3rd.

In Dallas County, polling locations will be open from 7 AM – 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. Various counties will vary in times, so be sure to visit VoteTexas.org to find your closest poll.

Remember, voting in the midterm election is super important! Be sure to get out there and make your voice heard.

Do you have an interest in getting a taste of what our recently graduated cohort of women experienced in their sewing class? Then join our Sewing Basics class next week – open to the greater Dallas community! 🪡

Not only does this fundraiser give you the opportunity to create a super cute tote bag to take home and learn some basic sewing skills – it also funds future sewing classes offered to the refugee women we serve so that they can take this class at no cost to them.

Join on your own, or invite people to make it a group outing with friends, family connection time, or a team-building activity with co-workers! 💛

Our first sewing cohort has graduated! 🎉 We are SO proud of the women who stuck it out for the full class and graduated knowing more about sewing and invested in creating stronger relationships.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, teachers, donors, and staff who helped make this happen – and of course, thank you to the women who took the time to come out and learn this handy and marketable skill. We hope that this can be the first of many cohorts! 🤩💛

And the journey has begun! Yesterday our team and some of our community showed up to kick of Journey for Justice together—we’re walking 42.5 miles over the course of 6 weeks to honor in solidarity the 42.5 million refugees around the world and to fundraise for our refugee neighbors right here in Dallas. This Sunday, October 4th, we're walking together. 💛

If you haven't seen it by now, our Journey for Justice launches in just a few days, and we know six weeks can be a big commitment. So all we're asking right now is this: show up on October 4th. Come let us share the why and how behind this journey, and how it directly ties to our refugee neighbors.
