The NC Rural Center created the Rural Issues Poll so we could hear from rural residents and advocates about the key issues in their communities. So far, 79% of responses to the 2026 poll have come from rural North Carolina.

The poll will close in a few weeks, so there is still time to let your voice be heard! Consider taking the poll and giving us insight into the major issues in your home county. It only takes 5-10 minutes to complete, and as a thank you for your time, you'll be entered into a drawing for three tickets to the 2027 Rural Summit.

If you've already taken the poll, thank you for your time. We'd be so grateful if you could share this post with your networks!

Great information from the NC Department of State Treasurer

Scammers often rely on fear, urgency and convincing disguises. 👻

Help us celebrate Coalition on Aging member, NC Adult Day Services Association during National Adult Day Services week.

September 20-26, 2026, is National Adult Day Services Week, established by former President Ronald Regan in 1983 as the third full week of September. The NC Adult Day Services Association celebrates the care, connection and community in adult day services by presenting its inaugural Community Partner Award to Alvarez Landscaping. This generous small business with a huge heart for the community has repeatedly anticipated the needs of the adult day center, going above and beyond what would be expected. When outdoor spaces were overgrown, they spent an entire day clearing and restoring the grounds at no cost. During a winter storm an unplowed parking lot would have forced temporary closing of the center and disrupted routines of many families who rely on the adult day center, Alvarez Landscaping showed up! Jose' Alvarez and his team, a longstanding and generous supporter of Well-Spring Solutions (formerly Adult Center for Enrichment) and their annual fundraiser, were nominated by Solutions by Kintura: Memory Care Services Caregiver Education & Support in Greensboro, NC. Congratulations, and thank you for making a difference in adult day services in North Carolina!
