Remember Your Helmet!
Make sure your child wears a properly fitted helmet on
their way to school this spring. All students riding bikes
and scooters must wear a helmet, regardless of their skill
level. Studies have shown that wearing a helmet can
reduce the risk of head injuries by up to 85% in the
event of a bicycle accident.
Helmets not only protect our brains, but it's also illegal in
the state of Oregon for a child under 16 to ride a bike
without one. Additionally, state law requires all e-scooter
riders to wear a helmet, regardless of age.

¡Recuerda tu casco!
No olvides asegurarte de que tu hijo use un casco
bien ajustado en su camino a la escuela esta
primavera. Todos los estudiantes que montan en
bicicleta y scooter deben usar casco,
independientemente de su habilidad. Los estudios
han demostrado que el uso de casco puede reducir el
riesgo de lesiones en la cabeza hasta en un 85% en
caso de accidente en bicicleta.
No solo protegen nuestros cerebros, sino que
también es ilegal en el estado de Oregón que un niño

Parent Survey- REMINDER!
Tell Us About Your Route to School
It’s data collection time again for Beaverton’s Safe Routes to School
program. The purpose of this program is to make walking and biking
to school safe, convenient, and fun. Parent’s and guardian’s input into
how students travel to and from schools and their impression of the
safety of the route is valuable as the city and county prioritize needed
improvements for our roads.
The district survey will be combined with classroom tallies to give us a
good picture of how students are getting to and from schools
throughout the district.
The survey will be open for responses for four weeks from May 1st
until May 31st.
We appreciate your help in giving us information to make the Safe
Routes to School program effective for all Beaverton School District

Es nuevamente tiempo de recolección de datos para el programa
Rutas Seguras a la Escuela de Beaverton. El propósito de este

tutores sobre cómo los estudiantes viajan hacia y desde las

para darnos una buena imagen de cómo los estudiantes van y

Know the Facts about E-Bikes and E-Scooters
Electric bicycles and scooters are becoming increasingly
popular. In the state of Oregon, children under the age of
16 are not allowed to ride any class of electric bike or
scooter.
We strongly encourage all students and adults to wear a
helmet when riding any set of wheels, motorized or not.
If you are under the age of 16, you must wear a helmet
when biking, scootering, or skating.
Know the facts, follow safety laws, and stay safe!

patinetes eléctricos
Las bicicletas y los patinetes eléctricos son cada vez
más populares. En el estado de Oregón, los niños
