Keep an Eye Out for Kids
Kids are all about the costumes and candy, so they might not
notice traffic or wandering into unfamiliar areas. It's up to us adults
to stay sharp. Drive carefully and watch out in busy spots. Let's
make sure they have a safe and fun night!

deben estar atentos. Conduzcan con cuidado y tengan cuidado en
zonas concurridas. ¡Asegurémonos de que pasen una noche segura
y divertida!

It's time to gear up for Fall! As our days turn a bit darker and much
wetter, with the right gear, you can keep walking and rolling all
month long. Use these tips to make it easier to get out the door
with the things you need to keep your children warm and
comfortable for their trip to school.
Wear bright reflective clothing when walking or rolling.
Don’t assume people driving will see you. Make eye contact
before crossing in front of vehicles.
Be alert! Keep eyes and ears open, especially while crossing the
street.
Cyclists should make sure to have lights and wear helmets – it
is the law.
Driving or biking? Use extra caution and slow down in the dark
and rain. And remember, do not text and drive!

Y recuerda, no envíes
mensajes de texto mientras conduces.

Why Should You Walk + Roll To School?
Thousands of BSD students and families participate in Walk + Roll
Day each year. Whether you’re new to Walking + Rolling or you’re
already a Walk + Roll Superstar, it’s always good to remember the
endless benefits that come from active transportation. Here are
just a few:
It’s fun – especially when you can get your friends and family
involved.
It keeps you fit and prepares your brain for learning.
It boosts your endorphins and makes us happier.
It often saves us time from sitting in traffic and in crowded
parking lots.
It makes roads safer as more active road users are visible to
vehicles.
