Dolores Huerta leaves behind a powerful legacy. She believed that when workers organize and stand together, they can win dignity and justice. Her fearlessness and commitment to that vision shaped labor history, transformed the lives of millions of migrant workers and farmworkers, and inspired generations of women labor leaders to stand up and join the fight.

My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and to all who loved and were inspired by her.

¡Dolores Huerta, presente!

With deep sadness I share this news. She was such a remarkable person. And she seemed so strong when I met her last year at the Unity Dinner in Oakland RIP Dolores.

We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved mother, Dolores Huerta, has passed away today at the age of 96. As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for us, and we ask for privacy as we grieve this incredible loss to our family. We know that many of you around the world share in our mourning, and we will be following up on plans to recognize and celebrate her incredible life and legacy.

With gratitude,
Dolores Huerta’s Family

Thanks to President Trump’s disastrous war in Iran and other policies, gas prices are at a record high, grocery bills continue to climb, and for some families in our community, healthcare costs more than doubled this year. Trump’s economy is simply not working for CA-10 or for the American people. To discuss how House Democrats are working in Congress to lower the cost of living, I am hosting a virtual Town Hall on Affordability on Tuesday, October 20th at 3:00 p.m. Join us for this important conversation on Zoom and bring your questions!
