On this tragic day eight years ago, eleven innocent lives were lost, and many others were forever scarred by the most violent act of anti-Semitic hatred on American soil. Today, we take a moment to remember those who lost their lives and honor their memory. We stand with the survivors, their families, and the entire Jewish community, showing solidarity and support in the face of such darkness.

Today and always, we must continue to combat anti-Semitism and bigotry in all forms.

Rep. Melissa Cerrato and I showed up ready to play today to celebrate the opening of the new pickleball courts at Twining Valley Park in Upper Dublin Township.

This new addition represents another exciting milestone in the transformation of Twining Valley Park from a former golf course into an active community destination.

This project demonstrates what we can accomplish when local and state governments work together to create spaces that bring people outdoors and foster connections in our communities. Pickleball is a wonderful example of that mission in action. It brings people of all ages and skill levels together through fun, fitness, and friendship.

Congratulations to Upper Dublin Township and everyone who helped to make this project possible. I encourage you all to grab a paddle, invite a friend, and enjoy everything Twining Valley Park has to offer.

I am proud to announce that I will serve as the House Democratic Chair of the newly formed PA Bipartisan Problem Gambling Caucus.

As a certified public accountant and attorney, I look closely at what policies mean for household finances. Gambling harm is not confined to an individual wager. It can affect credit scores, savings, housing stability, food security, and an entire family’s economic future. Those consequences become especially troubling when people view betting as a way to pay their bills and we’re increasingly seeing that among young people. A recent Bank of America report found that 40% of Gen Z believed sports betting was investing. Gambling should never be an income strategy.

The costs do not stop with individual families. Communities can experience greater demand for social services, lost wages, and reduced economic productivity. Revenue collected by the state therefore cannot be the only figure in the ledger. We must also account for the financial harm created when safeguards are inadequate. That’s why we need this caucus and why I’m grateful to be joining my colleagues to help us get ahead of this issue and explore responsible guardrails that protect Pennsylvania families before a wager becomes a financial crisis.

Neighbors in Abington, please be aware of PennDOT work starting in early November...

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Tyson Avenue Bridge Closure starting November 2–December 18

PennDOT will begin bridge rehabilitation work on Tyson Avenue over Susquehanna Road in Abington Township on Monday, November 2.

Tyson Avenue will be closed 24/7 between Albright Avenue and Easton Road through Friday, December 18.

Detour: Drivers will be directed to use Edge Hill Road, Jenkintown Road, Fitzwatertown Road and Susquehanna Road.

Local access will be maintained. Motorists should allow extra travel time and expect delays. Work is weather dependent.

News from our friends at Upper Dublin Township about the new traffic signals installed at Bethlehem Pike and Lindenwold Avenue...

New traffic signals have been installed at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Lindenwold Avenue as part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in the area.

⚠️ The signals are currently in flashing mode for testing and are expected to be fully operational beginning Friday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. ⚠️

Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the intersection and remain alert to the new traffic signals during testing and once they become fully operational. Please follow all posted signs and traffic signals.

Share Your Input on the Delaware River Basin’s Water Resources

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) is developing a Water Resources Resilience Plan to help the region better understand and prepare for climate and other hazards, such as flooding and drought, that could affect our water resources.

DRBC is asking residents throughout the Delaware River Basin to complete a brief survey about their awareness and concerns regarding potential threats to water resources.

The survey takes approximately three minutes to complete, and your input will help inform DRBC’s planning and efforts to build a more resilient Delaware River Basin.
