🚨Contractors Needed! Become IDPH-Certified for Lead Abatement and Start Receiving Grant-Funded Work‼️

Ford County Public Health Department is calling on contractors to become IDPH-certified Lead Abatement Professionals. Through the CLEAR-Win program, certified contractors have access to ongoing lead hazard reduction projects with guaranteed payment through grant funding.

After becoming certified, you can:

Complete lead abatement projects for Ford County Public Health Department.
Work with other Illinois health departments participating in CLEAR-Win.
Offer lead abatement services directly to homeowners and families outside of the grant program.

𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 - 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

When an emergency occurs, first responders are often the first people our communities turn to for help.

Today, the Illinois Emergency Services Management Association (IESMA) recognizes the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and other first responders who serve communities across Illinois every day.

Their commitment extends far beyond responding to emergencies. They train, prepare, educate, and work together to strengthen the communities they serve.

As emergency managers, we have the privilege of working alongside these professionals. We also recognize that an effective emergency response depends on relationships, coordination, and preparation established long before an incident occurs.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱. 🍂 Black Legged Tick (Deer Tick) Season is Here! 🕷️

From mid-October until we experience a hard freeze, black legged ticks remain active and can be found in wooded areas, tall grass, leaf litter, brush piles, field edges, and even some residential yards.

Protect yourself and your family by remembering the 3 R's:

✅ REDUCE tick habitat around your home
✅ REPEL ticks with EPA-approved repellents and protective clothing
✅ REPORT tick sightings to help us monitor tick activity in Ford County

A few simple precautions can help reduce your risk of tick-borne illnesses, including Lyme disease.
