Paxton ERS is proud to partner with Gibson City Mayor Dickey following the severe flooding declared at both local and state levels.

To help our neighbors recover, Paxton ERS has provided Gibson City with critical supplies for local distribution:

American Red Cross Cleanup Buckets: Packed with essential cleaning supplies to aid in flood cleanup and sanitization.

Midwest Food Bank Food Boxes: Non-perishable food boxes for households affected by recent flooding.

A big thank you to Mayor Dickey, the City of Gibson City, the American Red Cross, and the Midwest Food Bank for working together to get these supplies to those who need them most.

We are reaching out to help spread the word about the flood damage self-reporting process that is available to all residents and businesses throughout Ford County.

We have spoken with several residents from the Gibson City and Elliott areas who were under the impression that the QR codes and reporting links currently being shared on social media were only intended for Paxton residents.

I would like to clarify that this is NOT correct.

These reporting tools are available to anyone in Ford County who experienced damage from the recent severe rainfall and flooding.

There are several easy ways for households and businesses to access the reporting forms:

Visit the Ford County Public Health Department website at www.fordcountyphd.org.

On the homepage, click the red alert banner at the top of the page. This will direct you to the flood damage reporting section, where you will find both the QR codes and links for household and business damage reports.

Complete the appropriate form and submit it. The forms also provide an option to upload photographs of damaged property or items.

Additionally, the homepage slideshow features a slide titled "Flood Damage Reporting for Ford County." On the left side of that slide, you will find separate links for:

Household (Personal) Damage Reporting
Business Damage Reporting

Simply click the appropriate link to access and complete the form.
It is imperative that everyone who experienced flood-related damage submits a report, regardless of whether the damage is minor or significant. Comprehensive reporting helps ensure that the full extent of the impact across Ford County is accurately documented.

First responders are at the scene of a three-vehicle crash west of Paxton. The crash occurred at 1:55 p.m. at Illinois 9 and County Road 1500 East. Ford County dispatchers said it involved three vehicles and six to seven people. Paramedics from Gibson Area Ambulance Service, firefighters from the Paxton Fire Protection District and Illinois State Police were called to the scene. “Injuries are being reported,” state police said in a news release. “This investigation is in its infancy, and no further information is available at this time.”

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day.

This day was established in 2022 to remember and honor lives lost to overdoses involving illegally made fentanyl and to help prevent future loss. Behind every life lost is a family, friend, school, workplace, or community affected by grief.
