Village of Loda – Water Billing Update

The Village is aware that many residents have not yet received their recent water bills.

The Village has been working to review, understand, and stabilize the billing process while also evaluating improvements to our systems moving forward.

To ensure all residents receive their statements, reprints of water bills are being mailed.

Residents who would like a copy sooner may request one by contacting the Village Treasurer. Copies can be:

• emailed
• picked up
• or arranged for delivery if needed

Because of the billing delays during this transition period, no late fees have been applied.

Additionally, with the timing of this bill being close to the next billing cycle, payment arrangements are available with no penalties. Residents needing additional time should simply reach out.

The Village is also working toward providing online billing access. Our goal was to have this available for the March/April cycle, but final setup items may push implementation to May/June. May will be the latest expected launch.

The Village appreciates the community’s patience as we stabilize systems and work to improve processes moving forward.

Hello, Loda! 👋

After the recent boil order (and hearing your feedback loud and clear 💬), we’ve been working on a better way to get important information to you quickly and directly.

We’re excited to announce the Village is now using DialMyCalls — a notification system that can send urgent updates by phone call 📞, text message 📱, or email 📧 — whichever you prefer!

➡️ You do NOT need a smartphone. Landlines can receive voice calls!

We’ll use this for things like:
• Boil orders 🚰
• Water service interruptions
• Emergency notices 🚨
• Other important village alerts & events

To receive notifications, you must opt-in:

💧 Water Bills & Contact Information Update

You will also notice additional information included with your upcoming water bills.

There was an issue with the most recent water bill mailing (technology keeps us humble 😅). Because of this, due dates are being extended and no late fees will be applied as long as payment is made by the updated due date listed in the mailing.

Inside the mailing you’ll find a short form asking you to update your household contact information. This helps us reach you quickly when something important happens.

You can:
• Return the paper form ✉️
• Scan the QR code in the mailing 📷
• Or submit online at www.villageofloda.org
🌐

You can also opt-in to DialMyCalls using that form.

Our goal is simple: when something important happens, you hear it directly from the Village — not secondhand and not hours later, and you won't have to leave your house to look for a sign!

☎️ NEW VILLAGE PHONE SYSTEM

And… after MANY hiccups (seriously… many 😅), our new phone system is officially installed!

Right now, when you call, it will ring to several Village representatives. In the coming days, we’ll be activating the menu system so you can:
• Press 1 – Mayor
• Press 2 – Clerk
• Press 3 – Treasurer
…and so on.

We will absolutely do our best to answer, but please don’t feel discouraged if you reach voicemail. We will call you back as soon as possible. We will also have texting available 📱more on this once it's completed!

Because all Village officials also work full-time jobs, responses may not always be immediate — however, we will make it a priority to respond the same day (before 8 PM) unless you let us know a different time works better.

Thank you for your patience while we modernize a few things around town and improve communication for everyone. We truly appreciate it and we’re working hard behind the scenes to make things run smoother for our community ❤️

❄️ Winter Storm Update for Loda ❄️

A quick check-in as this winter storm continues to roll through. Ford and Iroquois Counties remain under a Winter Storm Warning until midnight.

Here’s what we’re seeing:

• Snow and wind continuing through this evening
• Heaviest snow this afternoon into early night
• Gusts up to 30 mph
• Slick roads — especially bridges and open areas
• Estimated 5–9 inches total snow accumulation

A few friendly reminders as we get through the day:

• Take it slow on the roads. Conditions can flip fast.
• Check on neighbors and family, especially anyone who might need extra support.
• Charge your phones and essentials — better safe than sorry.
• Keep an eye on pets and outdoor animals.
Some are snow-loving champs (looking at you, huskies 🐺❄️)… others take one step outside and immediately regret their life choices. Just make sure they’re safe and have shelter.

If you don’t need to travel today, it’s a good time to stay warm, stay home, and keep an eye on updates. ☕🧣

We’ll continue sharing information as it comes in. Thanks for taking care of one another — that’s what makes Loda feel like home. 💛
