The Palacios Community Hub would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Jill Chavez for her continued support of our mission. 🐾 Something Purr-fect is Coming to Palacios! 🐾

The Palacios Community Hub is excited to announce our new Cat Lounge, created in partnership with Pawsitive Support!

This special space has been made possible through the incredible generosity of Pawsitive Support, who has fully funded the lounge and invested countless hours of hard work, dedication, and love into making it a reality for our community. We are so grateful for their commitment to both people and animals.

Why a Cat Lounge?

❤️ Studies have shown that interacting with cats and other companion animals can:

* Reduce stress and anxiety
* Lower blood pressure
* Decrease feelings of loneliness
* Increase feelings of connection and emotional well-being
* Provide comfort and support during difficult times

Even spending just a few minutes petting a cat can help lower cortisol (the body’s stress hormone) and boost mood.

🐱 The Cat Lounge will also serve an important purpose for our local animal community by:

* Helping cats socialize and become more adoptable
* Connecting cats with loving forever homes
* Creating space for new cats to be rescued and cared for
* Educating the community about responsible pet ownership

This project is about more than cats—it’s about creating opportunities for healing, companionship, connection, and second chances for both people and animals.

We can’t wait to share more details and open our doors soon! Stay tuned for updates, volunteer opportunities, and ways you can support this exciting new addition to the Palacios Community Hub.

Board Member Spotlight: Carol Cappadonna

The Palacios Community Hub is fortunate to have Carol Cappadonna, from Jackson County, serving on our Board of Directors. Carol is a dedicated attorney who has spent more than 30 years helping families navigate some of life's most challenging situations, including foster care and adoption cases. She has also generously volunteered her time through Texas Rural Legal Aid, ensuring that legal services are accessible to those who need them most.

Carol joined the Hub Board because she believes everyone deserves a hand up when facing difficult circumstances. Her passion for helping others, combined with her legal expertise and heart for service, has benefited countless individuals and families throughout our region.

Thank you, Carol, for your leadership, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to strengthening our communities! ❤️
