As of this morning the Burn Ban is back in effect. Please be aware of this. Under the current burn ban, all outdoor fires, including controlled burns, recreational fires, and any other open burning, are prohibited until further notice. This measure is necessary to ensure public safety and protect air quality within our community.

A strong cold front will result in northerly winds, gusting as high as 45 mph through Monday. Relative humidity values overnight will struggle to climb above 30% with min RH's dropping to as low as 10% Monday afternoon. A Fire Weather Warning is in effect from this evening to Monday evening. Do your part to reduce sparks!

Any spark can quickly turn into a fast-moving grass or wildfire.

🔥 Do not weld or grind outdoors
🔥 Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
🔥 Properly discard ci******es
🔥 Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass

If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.

Conditions like this can overwhelm even experienced firefighters in minutes.

🔥🚫Fire Danger Is HIGH Across South Texas today

With very low humidity (15–20%) and strong SE winds gusting 15–20 mph, conditions are primed for fires to spread rapidly. Even a small, “controlled” burn can get out of hand in minutes.

Why it’s dangerous today:

• Dry vegetation ignites easily
• Wind can carry sparks far beyond the burn area
• Fires can grow faster than crews can respond

Please avoid:

• Any controlled or open burning
• Using equipment that creates sparks
• Parking vehicles on dry grass
• Improperly discarding ci******es

A few hours of caution today can prevent a wildfire that endangers homes, livestock, and first responders.
