This morning, eight of our Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company members participated in the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
For several of our younger firefighters, September 11, 2001, is a day they were too young to remember or were not yet born. Seeing them step up to carry that weight proves that "Never Forget" is more than a slogan—it is a promise passed down to the next generation.
Each member climbed the equivalent of 110 stories to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, symbolically completing the journey those heroes started.
We were also honored to have Baltimore County Fire Department Assistant Chief Ebbert with us today, who commended our crew for their strong turnout and dedication. Thank you to the NFFF for putting on an incredible event and to everyone who continues to support our members!
