In just a few short weeks, we’ll be at the IGNITE 2026 Summit: Portrait of a Learner!

Several members of the Envision community will be presenting at this year’s Summit, sharing practices and perspectives from across our work. In the weeks leading up to IGNITE, we’ll be spotlighting each of them.

First up: Lindzey Tassano.

Envision’s Lindzey Tassano, Senior Director of Student Services, will lead Advisory as the Nexus for Whole-Child Learning, exploring how advisory can serve as a powerful structure for whole-child, student-centered learning.

Some stories are worth sharing and resharing. For a little Monday inspiration, we’re spotlighting the G-Bees.

While partnering with Roanoke County Public Schools to refine and pilot a culminating performance assessment system aligned with the district’s Opportunity-Ready Skills, Envision Learning Partners had the opportunity to visit Glenvar High School and learn about the student-led G-Bees initiative.

Students participate in every aspect of beekeeping, from maintaining hives and harvesting honey to crafting lip balm, soap, candles, hot honey, and more. Through this hands-on work, they build entrepreneurial skills while raising funds for outdoor education and scholarships.

The G-Bees offer a powerful example of performance assessment in action, with students applying their knowledge and skills in meaningful, real-world ways.

We’re celebrating Kavita Mehta Khanna, Middle School Technology Teacher at Impact Academy, who was recently selected as a Google for Education Certified Innovator as part of the Atlanta 2026 cohort.

For the past five years, Kavita has brought emerging digital tools into her classroom, helping students use technology to create, solve problems, and make an impact.

As a Certified Innovator, she joins a global community of educators designing solutions to meaningful challenges in education.

Kavita describes this recognition not as a finish line, but as a starting point, and credits the mentors, colleagues, friends, and family who supported her along the way. That commitment to continued learning and giving back makes this recognition especially meaningful.

Every great block party is a collective effort. Everyone brings something different, and everyone has a part to play. 🎉

That spirit inspired this year’s All Envision Day, bringing colleagues from across our network together this past Friday to celebrate, connect, and kick off the year ahead.

We laughed, played, welcomed new Envisioners, and celebrated colleagues reaching 5, 10, and 15-year milestones with us. 💛

Because building community isn’t separate from the work. It’s part of how the work gets done.

And with ONE day until students are back, we’re carrying that spirit with us into the new school year.

📚 Stronger Together: Educators From Across Our Schools Come Together!

Today, educators from across our network are coming together at Downtown Oakland Science Academy for Curriculum Day, a dedicated day to connect across school sites, learn from one another, and prepare for the year ahead.

Working alongside their content-area peers, Envision educators are engaging in focused work around curriculum, course maps, assessments, instructional planning, and strategies for meeting the needs of every student.

Two big questions are guiding the day:
💡 How do we design rigorous learning experiences that reflect both our instructional model and our students’ needs?
🤝 How can we tap into the expertise across our network to support one another?

The start of a new school year is about more than preparing our classrooms. It’s about investing in our educators, strengthening collaboration across our schools, and creating meaningful learning experiences for every student.

We’re excited to see what our Envisioners build together this year!
