Historic Downtown Neosho Established in the 1830s, Historic Downtown Neosho has been the heart of our community for nearly 200 years.

Today it is thriving with dozens of local shops, eateries, and pubs, walkable streets, and beautiful views around our historic courthouse square. Originally inhabited by Native Americans, Neosho was first settled by European-American pioneers in the late 1820's, formally organized in 1839, and officially incorporated in 1878. Early growth centered around burgeoning mining activity in the area. The

first homes and businesses were built in close proximity to the abundant freshwater springs in the area that is now the courthouse square. Centered around the 1936 Art Deco Newton County courthouse, Neosho's historic and cultural center has always been the courthouse square, downtown's beloved Big Spring Park, and the surrounding neighborhoods. In 1993, the Neosho Commercial Historic District, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Since the late 1990's, thanks to various revitalization efforts and reinvestment by local citizens, historic downtown Neosho is experiencing an ongoing renaissance of culture, business, and community. Today, historic downtown Neosho features historic street lights, renovated storefronts, modern sidewalks, as well as an eclectic mix of restaurants, shops, and services.

Grab your pup and come hang out with us this Saturday from 11 AM–2 PM in Historic Downtown Neosho for a fun day celebrating all things dogs!

Saturday Sept. 19th. 10am-5pm. @ 124 E. Spring St. Neosho, MO.

For this Swap, they will be giving away door prizes for the first 50 attendees! (Strings, Tuners, Pick packs, etc.)

Downtown Nutrition is providing an energizing tea for all 380 Neosho teachers on Friday, August 28! We’re looking for local businesses to sponsor teachers at $7 per tea. Sponsor one teacher, a grade level, or as many as you’d like!

Sponsors will be recognized on our social media, and you’re welcome to include business cards, coupons, or promotional items with the teacher deliveries.
