Every day, we are thankful for our first responders, but today, on National First Responders Day, we want to share an extra heartfelt thank you. ❤️

To our firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, 911 dispatchers and operators: thank you for your courage, dedication and service. We are grateful for all you do to keep our community safe and for answering the call when our neighbors need you most.

📚 Bookshelves and Storage Cabinets Needed! 📚

We’re working on organizing our space at Family Christian Development Center, and we could use your help!

Do you have a bookshelf or storage cabinet you no longer need? We would be grateful to put it to good use and we’ll gladly come pick it up!

❤️🖤 Thank you, Northwood High School, for hosting a food drive this week to support our local food pantries!

We are grateful for the students, staff and families who are coming together to help keep pantry shelves stocked and our neighbors fed. Your kindness makes a difference right here in our community!

The food drive starts tomorrow! Clean out those pantries (with non-expired items please) or add some things to your grocery list this week! All donations will support FCDC and Open Door.

🏓 There’s still time to join the fun! Spots are open for our Pickleball Tournament, and we’d love to see you on the court!

The FCDC Pickleball Tournament is Saturday, October 31 at Family Christian Development Center in Nappanee. Doors open at 9 AM, games start at 10, and it’s a double-elimination bracket, so every team gets at least two games.

💵 $15 per person ($30 per team)
🏆 Gift card prizes for the top 3 teams
🍔 Concessions all day

Every dollar from registration and concessions goes straight back into FCDC’s work in our community. 💛

⚡ FCDC Power Outage Update

Due to a power outage, Family Christian Development Center (FCDC) is currently closed.

The food pantry and clothing closet will NOT be open today unless power is restored before 1:00 PM.

What can your $20 a month provide?

Due to our incredible partners, many through our affiliation with Hunger Ends Here, FCDC can purchase food at deeply discounted prices.

Your $20 can purchase 400 pounds of food for our Food Pantry. Yes, 400 pounds! 🥫

Here’s what that can look like:
- 75 pounds of chicken
- 25 pounds of cheese
- 30 boxes of spaghetti
- 30 jars of spaghetti sauce
- 90 pounds of olive oil
- 20 pounds of spices
- 60 pounds of deli meat
- 54 cups of Cup Noodles
- 40 pounds of soup
- 20 pounds of frozen meals

Since August 1, 45 new families from our community have visited our food pantry and clothing closet. As more neighbors turn to us, your support helps us welcome them with care.

That’s why we need YOU! Help us reach our goal of 100 new monthly donors giving $20 a month.

Together, we can keep putting Compassion in Action. 💙

🍝 FCDC is turning 30, and you’re invited! 🍝

For 30 years, the Family Christian Development Center has been serving families right here in Nappanee. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than sharing a meal with the community that has helped make it all possible!

Join us for our 30th Birthday Party & FREE Spaghetti Dinner!
