Lifesharing Awareness Month continues! 💙✨

We are thrilled to share that a CSG provider family was honored with the Lifesharing Provider Excellence Award, presented by Kristen Arens, Deputy Secretary, at the Pennsylvania Lifesharing Conference in Harrisburg, PA! 🏆🎉

At CSG, we proudly join in this celebration to honor the dedicated host families, individuals, and support teams who make Lifesharing such a transformative journey.

Lifesharing is far more than a living arrangement. It’s built on creating genuine family experiences and meaningful, long-term relationships. By opening their homes and everyday lives, host families help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build confidence, gain independence, and thrive as active, valued members of their communities. 🏠❤️

Join us in celebrating this incredible milestone and thanking all of our amazing Lifesharing families! 👏

Some of life's most meaningful connections happen in the everyday moments of a shared home.

October is Lifesharing Awareness Month. If you've unfamiliar with Lifesharing, it's is a model of support that looks a little different from traditional services, and makes a world of difference for the people it serves.

Lifesharing is exactly what it sounds like. An individual with an intellectual or developmental disability shares their daily life with a caring host family or individual, building real relationships, developing skills, and experiencing the kind of belonging that comes from truly being part of a home.

It's morning routines and shared meals. Weekend errands and holiday traditions. It's community, connection, and care woven into everyday life.

For individuals who thrive in a home environment, Lifesharing offers something no traditional setting can replicate: a place where they aren't just supported, but genuinely valued as part of a family.

At CSG, we are proud to support Lifesharing as part of our commitment to helping individuals with IDD live full, connected lives in the communities they call home.

When a child is struggling, one of the most important steps is finding the right support.

Changes like mood, behavior, attention, or emotional well-being can ripple into a child’s home life, school experience, and relationships. Child Psychiatry services at CSG provide specialized support to help children, adolescents, and families better understand their needs and find a path forward.

Services may include psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis and treatment planning, medication management, ongoing psychiatric care, family support, and care coordination.

Whether you're a parent or caregiver looking for support—or a provider looking for resources for a child or family—CSG is here to help.

CSG wouldn’t be able to provide services and support to the people throughout our communities without the dedicated people who show up every day to make it happen.

Over the past six weeks, we’ve been recognizing CSG's employees by celebrating and shining a light on the many departments and teams that keep CSG moving forward. From direct service to administrative support, clinical care to operations, every role contributes to the work we do and the people we serve.

Our employees bring expertise, compassion, creativity, and commitment to their work every single day. They support individuals through challenges, celebrate milestones, solve problems, build relationships, and make sure the work behind the scenes gets done, too.

To every CSG employee: thank you. You are the reason we can do what we do, and we’re grateful for the people, talent, and heart you bring to CSG. 🫶

Employee Appreciation Month may be wrapping up, but our appreciation for you doesn't end here. 💙

Today is World Mental Health Day. A good reminder that checking in shouldn't wait until things feel overwhelming.

Too often, we push through. We tell ourselves we're fine, or that others have it harder, or that we'll deal with it later. But taking a moment to honestly reflect on how we're doing is one of the simplest and most powerful things we can do for ourselves.

So today, try asking yourself:

- What have I been feeling lately?
- Am I more stressed, tired, irritable, or withdrawn than usual?
- What's actually been helping me feel better?
- Is there something I've been carrying on my own that I haven't talked about?
- Who could I reach out to if I needed support?

And don't forget to check in on others. Send the text. Make the call. Ask how someone is doing, and mean it. You don't need the perfect words or the ability to fix anything. Sometimes just showing up and making space for an honest conversation is enough.

Today, check in. With yourself. With someone you care about.

Mental illness doesn't always look the way we might expect it to.

It could be the friend who seems fine but has been quietly struggling for months. The coworker who is always the first to check on everyone else. The family member who laughs the loudest in the room. Mental illness doesn't announce itself. And that's part of what can make it feel so isolating for the people living with it.

In reality, mental illness is far more common than most of us realize. But it doesn't define a person or determine what their life can look like. With the right support, people heal, grow, and thrive every day.

So what can you do to make a difference? Connection. Conversation. Recognizing that the people around you can handle you telling them you're not okay.

The more openly we talk about mental health, the easier it becomes for someone to recognize they might need support, and actually reach out for it. You don't have to know exactly what's wrong or have the right words. You just have to be willing to start the conversation.

This Mental Illness Awareness Week, we're inviting you to do just that. Check in on someone. Share your own experience with them if you feel comfortable. Or simply let the people in your life know that they can be honest with you.

You never really know what someone might be carrying. But you can make sure they know they don't have to carry it alone. 💚

If you or someone you love is considering mental health treatment, you may have heard the terms IOP and PHP and wondered: what do they actually mean?

While Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) both provide more structured support than traditional outpatient care, they aren't exactly the same.

So what’s the difference? How do these programs fit into the broader mental health care continuum? And what can you expect from each?

In our latest post we break down some of these common questions like:

🔹What IOP and PHP are and the key differences between them
🔹Who each level of care may be appropriate for
🔹What to consider when deciding where to start

Whether you're looking for care for yourself, supporting a loved one, or making a referral, this guide can help you better understand your options.
