Updates for June 23:
1) Here will be training at the station this evening. The hydraulic tools did not come in as expected and so we will not be cutting up cars as I had hoped.
2) TRAINING: We will be hosting a Driver/Pump Operator refresher course during the Tuesday of July. July 7, 14, and 21st training will start at 6 pm as this will be a WPCC class to recertify our drivers and pump operators. This is a required class for driver operators. Anyone 18 and over may drive the apparatus during these classes per WPCC rules.
Other WPCC Training Courses coming up are in the comments:
3) BUILDING AND GROUNDS: Weather dependent, there will be a tea working on replacing our rain gutters this week at the station. Use caution when entering the station and watch for their equipment.
4) APPARATUS: As of June 29, 76 Engine 3 will be the first out engine for all structure fires. We will be updating the SOPs to reflect this. 76 Brush 2 has been having battery issues and First Due Apparatus has been contacted for repair.
5) ATTENDANCE: SOPs require 36 hours of training annually and that members attend at least 1 training a month. There have been a lot of members not attending training and we need you to make the effort to attend or we may suspend you from emergency response. We are ¾ of the way through the reimbursement year and there are members still without 36 hours. It does not matter how many calls you run, if you do not meet the minimum training requirements, you will not receive reimbursement and may be removed from the roster on December 31st. Please join us for training.
6) PAID STAFF: Part-time staff start Monday, June 29th at 0800.
