Reminder: Open House is tomorrow from 4:00–6:30 PM!

Students will find their homeroom assignment posted on lists in each hallway. Once they locate their homeroom, they should report to that classroom to receive their schedule.

Please note that student schedules will not be finalized until 4:00 PM tomorrow. Our staff is continuing to work on schedules, particularly elective placements, right up until Open House. Please give us time to complete this process. Elective classes may change between now and 4:00 PM tomorrow, so schedules viewed in Infinite Campus before Open House should not be considered final.

When you receive your child’s schedule at Open House, please look closely at the elective classes listed.

Parent Information Meetings will be held every 30 minutes in the theater. We encourage families to attend one of these sessions to hear important updates and review LMS expectations, rules, and procedures for the upcoming school year.

Bus Transportation: Bus information will be available in the lunchroom. If your child is new to LMS, including all incoming 6th graders, and needs bus transportation, please complete the bus transportation form. If you completed the form earlier this summer or your child rode a Liberty bus last year, your child’s bus number and stop times are available in Infinite Campus through the Parent Portal.

Burke County Public Schools and High Country STEM (Strategies That Engage Minds) will present information about the district’s balanced instruction approach and plans to engage students with skills that translate to post-secondary success as the career landscape evolves. Join us at Patton High School at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17.

BCPS will host our annual high school football JAMBOREE on Friday at Patton High School. First scrimmage kicks off at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the action on the field, community agencies will set up information booths started at 6 p.m. Admission is $10. No passes will be accepted. Those 10 and under get in for free. Please note we will follow our safe gate entry procedures with only clear bags allowed and walk-through metal detectors in place. Let's get ready for some football!

From our friends at the Burke County Health Department: Burke County Public Health, located at 700 E. Parker Road, Morganton, provides recommended childhood and adolescent immunizations to help students start the school year protected and ready to learn. Vaccines available include DTaP, Tdap, Meningococcal, Meningococcal B, HPV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, MMR, Polio, Varicella (chickenpox), Hib, Prevnar (pneumococcal), Rotavirus (RotaTeq), and combination vaccines including Pentacel and Vaxelis. Appointments are required for all immunizations, and patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the time of their visit. Burke County Public Health accepts a variety of insurance plans, including Aetna, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, NC State Health Plan, Surest, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Ambetter, AmeriHealth Caritas NC, Carolina Complete Health, Healthy Blue, Humana, Partners Health, Vaya Health, WellCare, MPE Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility, and TRICARE. Patients with insurance providers not listed or without insurance coverage may be subject to fees at the time of service.

We have one more week of voluntary workouts before official football practice begins at Liberty.

Official practice starts Monday, August 10, and will be held Monday through Friday from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. We will keep that schedule until school starts.

We have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time, so it’s important that everyone who plans to play is there and ready to go.

Please help spread the word and make sure anyone interested in playing is at practice on August 10.

Reminder: Every player must have a current sports physical on file before participating in practice.

Thank you for all your support! We look forward to seeing everyone at voluntary workouts this week and officially getting started on August 10. Attendance, especially during the first week, is extremely important so everyone can complete conditioning together.
