Our hearts are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our own. Chris & I learned to be Paramedics together and definitely could tell many stories from that class! We all had growing pains, as I like to call them, and definitely had many conversations over the years, mostly about the fact that we actually survived it. But we made it through, stepping out into this crazy world of EMS, making our way, one call at a time, doing our best to make a difference. Which was exactly what he loved to do. I had the opportunity to watch him witness to Pt’s at their lowest about his own trials of life, and was truly amazed at the connections he made. He gave them Hope & Grace when they had none & needed it the most. Chris was certainly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone in his EMS family. Rest easy Chris, we’ll take it from here.

Telfair County Fire Department Awarded NVFC & DripDrop Hydration Grant

The Telfair County Fire Department and Chief Atkins is proud to announce that it has been selected to receive a grant from the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and DripDrop Hydration.

DripDrop Hydration is a medical-grade electrolyte powder scientifically formulated to treat and help prevent dehydration by rapidly accelerating fluid absorption. This award will help ensure our firefighters remain properly hydrated while responding to emergencies, training, and working in Georgia's extreme heat.

The grant application was researched, prepared, and submitted by Captain James Fisher.

Telfair County Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to the National Volunteer Fire Council and DripDrop Hydration for their generous support of volunteer firefighters and rural fire departments. Partnerships like these help us better protect the health and safety of our personnel as they continue serving the citizens of Telfair County.

Thank you, NVFC and DripDrop Hydration, for investing in our firefighters and our community.
