Today, employees throughout Maple Shade Township proudly wore blue and blue ribbons in support of Xavier and his family.

Residents may have noticed members of our Public Works Department and other Township employees wearing blue while working throughout the community. This simple act was our way of standing in solidarity with Xavier and showing that our thoughts are with him and his loved ones.

At times like these, communities come together not only as neighbors, but as one family. We are grateful for the opportunity to show our support and join so many others across Maple Shade who are keeping Xavier in their hearts.

From all of us at Maple Shade Township, we continue to send our strength, encouragement, and support.

🌸 Welcome to Main Street, Bella Blooms by Talia! 🌸

Yesterday, Mayor Talarico and members of Township Council had the pleasure of welcoming Maple Shade's newest small business with an official ribbon cutting ceremony for Bella Blooms by Talia!

Located at 62 West Main Street (across from Acme), Bella Blooms by Talia specializes in fresh floral arrangements for weddings, special events, holidays, and everyday occasions. They also offer beautiful grab-and-go bouquets perfect for life's simple moments. Many of their flowers are sourced from local South Jersey growers, and each arrangement is thoughtfully designed with creativity and passion to bring beauty to every occasion.

We are excited to see another local business invest in our community and contribute to the continued growth and vibrancy of Main Street.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Deputy Mayor Zahradnick and Township Manager Susan Danson had the privilege of attending the Burlington County Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony in Burlington Township.

The morning brought together veterans, elected officials, community leaders, and residents from across Burlington County to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

As we reflect on the freedoms we enjoy each day, we remain forever grateful to those who gave their lives defending them. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Burlington County for hosting this meaningful ceremony and for ensuring that the legacy of our fallen heroes continues to be honored for generations to come.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

This week, Mayor Talarico highlights one of Maple Shade's hidden gems , the Community Garden located on Collins Lane!

The Community Garden provides residents with the opportunity to grow their own vegetables, herbs, flowers, and friendships while enjoying the outdoors. It is a wonderful example of neighbors coming together to cultivate not only gardens, but also a stronger sense of community.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just looking to try something new, the Community Garden offers a welcoming space to learn, grow, and connect with fellow residents.

🏠 More than 500 housing inspections completed
🎾 Pickleball courts, Jake's Place, community gardens, and trail planning
🚔 Public safety and infrastructure investments
📢 Increased communication, transparency, and resident engagement

And that's just the beginning.

Progress isn't always one big project.....it's the result of many efforts happening at the same time to make our community stronger, safer, and more vibrant.

Whether it's supporting local businesses, securing outside funding, improving parks, planning for the future, or enhancing quality of life, Maple Shade continues to move in the right direction.

📢 NEW SERIES: Facts vs. Opinion

In local government, residents care deeply about their community....and that's a good thing. But in today's world, it can sometimes be difficult to separate facts from opinions, assumptions, and rumors.

Mayor Heather Talarico is launching a new video series, Facts vs. Opinion, designed to help residents better understand how decisions are made, where to find reliable information, and the difference between what can be verified through official records and what may simply be someone's personal viewpoint.

Each episode will focus on a specific topic, break down the facts, and point residents to the public records, meetings, ordinances, and documents that help tell the full story.

An informed community is a stronger community, and this series is intended to promote transparency, understanding, and constructive conversation.

Watch the first installment below, and if there is a township topic you'd like addressed in a future episode, please share your questions with the Mayor through the Township's official channels.
