💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month | Together, We Can Make a Difference
As October comes to a close, the Maple Grove Police Department would like to thank our community for supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month and helping raise awareness about domestic violence prevention, education, and the resources available to those in need.
Throughout October, our officers proudly wore purple End Domestic Violence patches as part of our fourth annual Purple Patch Initiative. This year, we also introduced our End Domestic Violence bears, giving community members another meaningful way to show their support. Bears are still available at the police department for purchase.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and the continued partnership of Daily Dose Cafe and Expresso and Kingdom Coffee, proceeds from the sale of patches and bears will benefit Maria's Voice, a local nonprofit dedicated to preventing domestic and youth relationship violence through education and awareness.
Awareness doesn't end when October does. Domestic violence affects individuals and families throughout the year, and help is always available. We encourage everyone to become familiar with local and national resources, recognize the signs of abuse, and support those who may be experiencing domestic violence.
