Sara Graham Investigation Update: Graham Declared Deceased

For Immediate Release
June 3, 2026

On June 1, 2026, a Superior Court of Robeson County Judge's ruling legally declared Sara Nicole Graham deceased pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. 28C-2, which establishes that missing person may be presumed dead if they have been absent from their last known residence and unheard from for a continuous period of seven (7) years.

“On the tenth anniversary of Sara's disappearance, my Office and the FBI held a news conference telling the community there had not been confirmed contact or a sighting of Sara and to this day, our investigation has found no evidence Sara drove her van to the field along East McDonald Road where it was found on February 4, 2015," said Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins. "Let me be clear, the judge's ruling does not alter our search for Sara, it does expand the scope of our joint case from a missing person to a homicide. We continue to use every available investigative method, technology, and resource to search for Sara."

If you have information relevant to the investigation, please call the Robeson County Sheriff's Office at (910) 671-3100, 1-800-CALL FBI or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov

Today is recognized as National Fentanyl Awareness Day. A time to confront a crisis that continues to impact families across Robeson County and nationally.

Fentanyl is not just a statistic. It is claiming lives, destroying futures, and leaving lasting pain in our communities.

We must stay informed, talk openly with our children and loved ones, and hold those who traffic this poison accountable. At the same time, we must continue to support those battling addiction and guide them toward help and recovery.

Together, through awareness, education, and enforcement, we can save lives.
