What will your legacy make possible? 🎓💙

For the Lowell High School Class of ’74, the answer was opportunity.

Recognizing how meaningful scholarship support could have been when they graduated, the Class of ’74 Reunion Committee established a permanent class scholarship to help future Lowell High graduates pursue their next chapter.

A planned gift can continue making an impact for decades, supporting scholarships, educational programs, facilities, and initiatives that create opportunities for future generations.

Invest in the community you call home. đź’™

Since 1997, the Greater Lowell Community Foundation has worked alongside donors, nonprofits, businesses, and community partners to address local needs, create opportunities, and strengthen our region.

From grants that help nonprofits carry out critical work to scholarships that help students pursue their dreams, GLCF’s impact is made possible through partnership.

Becoming a GLCF Annual Sponsor is one way your business or organization can help sustain that work and invest in a stronger Greater Lowell.

Together, we can do more for our community.

More than 500 students. One permanent piece of their school’s story. 🎨

Through MAKE YOUR MARK, an Arts Elevate Arts Equity Grant project from Aaron's Presents and My Beautiful Mind, students at Pyne Arts School were invited to help design a permanent mural for their school.

For two weeks, students created original designs inspired by creativity, community, school pride, and self-expression. After a school-wide vote, the winning design was transformed into a large-scale mural by the WAVEMAKERS art team.

The result is more than a mural. It’s a space shaped by the ideas, creativity, and voices of the young people who experience it every day. ✨

Strengthening access to support can make a meaningful difference for survivors and families.

Through GLCF’s Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund, Alternative House has been awarded a three-year grant to expand its partnership with the Groton MA Police Department and increase access to domestic violence prevention, education, and survivor services in Groton.

The initiative builds upon a partnership established in 2022 and will strengthen training and resources for law enforcement while improving connections to services for survivors and families.

This is what sustained investment in local partnerships can make possible. đź’™

41% of Greater Lowell nonprofits say they cannot meet existing community demand with the resources available to them.

That’s one of the findings from GLCF’s Summer 2026 survey of 75 local nonprofit organizations and it’s only part of the story.

📊 85% say foundation and private grant funding is more competitive than ever
📊 75% are cautious to very concerned about the next 12 months
📊 52% report increased staff workload and stress
📊 49% are struggling with increased administrative burdens

Local organizations continue to adapt, collaborate, stretch budgets, and find new ways to serve. But as community needs rise while funding tightens, the pressure on our nonprofit sector continues to grow.

Understanding these challenges is an important part of strengthening the organizations our communities rely on every day.

What a wonderful evening celebrating community, connection, and giving! đź’™

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Celebrate Giving 2026 at UTEC.

This year’s theme, Community Building & Belonging, reminded us of the importance of working together to create stronger, more welcoming communities.

We were proud to recognize our 2026 honorees: Rockland Trust, Mercy Anampiu Cheboryot, Richard (Dick) Howe, and B.F. Butler Middle School.

A special thank you to Turahn Dorsey, President & CEO of Eastern Bank Foundation, for joining us for a meaningful conversation, and to our sponsors, partners, and community members who made this celebration possible.

Together, we’re building a stronger Greater Lowell! 💙

Creativity can be a powerful tool for connection, belonging, and well-being. 🎨

A week ago, Arts Elevate brought together local artists for a full-day Embedded Community Artist Training, preparing participants to bring their creative practices into nonprofit and community settings across Greater Lowell.

Through hands-on workshops, shared learning, and guidance from experienced facilitators, artists explored how to build meaningful partnerships and use their work to support the communities they serve.

We’re excited to see where they take what they learned next! ✨
