September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and this week we are highlighting the importance of connection, early intervention, and continued care. πŸ’œπŸ©΅

β€’ Connection is an important part of su***de prevention. When people feel supported and connected to others, they may be more likely to reach out for help and access the care they need.

β€’ Early intervention matters. Recognizing when someone may be struggling and helping them connect with support before a crisis escalates can make a meaningful difference. Treatment works, and with timely, compassionate care, people experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors can heal and recover.

β€’ Support does not end when a crisis passes. Ongoing treatment, safety planning, follow-up care, and meaningful connections can help people stay engaged in their recovery and remind them that they are not alone.

We all have a role to play in su***de prevention. By fostering connection and helping people access treatment and support early, we can strengthen our community's ability to prevent su***de and promote hope, healing, and recovery.

UPDATE: This work has been postponed due to weather-related delays with the City's contractor. We will provide new dates when available.

______

πŸ“’ UPDATED DATES: Overnight Pavement Marking Work

The City's pavement marking contractor is now scheduled to complete overnight work on Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 17, weather permitting.

Work is expected to take place from approximately 8:00PM - 3:00AM to paint centerlines and lane lines. Localized traffic impacts may occur.

The following streets may require temporary parking restrictions to allow the contractor's equipment to maneuver:
β€’ Beacon St
β€’ E Merrimack St
β€’ Central St
β€’ Walker St

πŸš«πŸ…ΏοΈ No parking signs will be posted in advance of the work. Please follow posted restrictions and plan accordingly.

Vehicles must be removed from affected streets during work hours. Parked vehicles may prevent the contractor from safely maneuvering equipment and completing the pavement marking work. Vehicles parked in posted no-parking areas may be towed at the owner's expense. Please make alternative parking arrangements during work hours. Thank you for your cooperation!

Additional pavement marking, including crosswalks and roadway symbols, will continue through September.
