Meet Mama Bear! If you are looking for the sweetest ball of lovin’ that you could possibly find, look no further! Those soulful eyes…that gorgeous coloring…the never-ending desire for tummy rubs…and yes, that’s Mama Bear, not our paramedic Eric.
Mama Bear came to Eagle County from Underdog Rescue in Moab, an approximately 2-year-old, 100% "Rez Dog," which means we don’t really know what she’s mixed with. Now that her puppies have found their forever homes, it’s Mama's turn to be babied.
We suspect Mama Bear had a difficult life before she was rescued, so she’s still learning about some things like leashes and potty training. Her new family will need to be patient and gentle as they help her learn about the big wide world and discover just how much fun being a beloved family dog can be. Mama Bear may do best in a calm home with older kids who can respect her boundaries so she can come out of her shell at her own pace. She doesn't need a perfect home–she just needs a patient one and a family who is willing to celebrate the little victories, gently encourage her when something feels scary and show her that she is finally safe and loved.
Trust us: Mama Bear is here for the lovin’: She’ll sidle up to you with that whole-body wag and wait for the pets and scritches she deserves. If you have room in your heart for a sweet girl who is ready to learn, grow and love with her whole wiggly self, Mama Bear may be the special girl you've been waiting for!
