I know I’m new to politics. I am not new to policy, government programs, or bureaucracy.

I spent most of my career working across Medicaid, community programs, federal grants, healthcare operations, accreditation, patient support, and the systems and regulations behind them. I was often the person on the other side of the table from bureaucrats, figuring out how to make rigid government programs actually work for patients, families, and frontline workers.

I know how these systems operate. I know how policy gets embedded into them, where unnecessary bureaucracy builds up, and where change actually has to happen.

That is why I got involved.

I started as an Independent because I cared more about policy than party. I never switched my actual platform but as I started networking - the clearer it became that the solutions to our problems align with the Republican platform.

Today, I’m a proud Republican, a member of my local committee, and committed to moving that platform forward.

Strip away the national rhetoric and the core message is straightforward: affordable and reliable energy, less unnecessary regulation, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, and decisions made as close to the people as possible.

We are a massive country. Washington should not assume Providence, Rhode Island and rural Arkansas need the same solutions. Federalism matters. States matter. Communities matter.

I’m still learning the political side of this work, and I’m fine saying that. Policy is my foundation; politics is the skill set I’m building around it.

And I refuse to leave Rhode Island.

I love my house, my neighbors, my street, and my three-family Colonial in the most Irish way possible.

My babies were born here, and I will raise them here.

I don’t want families like mine to feel like they have to leave for cheaper energy, lower taxes, better schools, or less bureaucracy.

This is my home.

I didn’t get involved in politics to escape Rhode Island.

I got involved because I believe we can fix it.

Gabe Amo voted to tax social security, overtime, and tips.

He’ll say he voted NO because of the new Medicaid work requirements but the guidelines are appropriate. And the exemptions protect our most vulnerable.

* Major exemptions include:
* Pregnant women and people receiving postpartum Medicaid
* Parents/caregivers of a child 13 or younger
* Caregivers for a person with a disability
* People with disabilities or who are considered medically frail
* Medicare enrollees
* People already satisfying qualifying SNAP/TANF work requirements
* disabled veterans
* Former foster youth under age 26
