The Carbon County Community Foundation enables people of all income levels to make a difference in our community and leave a lasting legacy. Exciting updates from the Summit Hill Parks Fund! 🌳

Renovation work has begun at Memorial Park in Summit Hill! A path has been cut through the park, and the next step will be adding pavers and lining the walkway with benches where visitors can sit, relax, and enjoy the space.

We’re excited to see this project taking shape and look forward to seeing Memorial Park continue to grow as a welcoming place for the community to gather and enjoy the outdoors!

Last week, we visited the Dimmick Memorial Library to present a grant from 20/20 Circle members Bill and Carol Allison in support of the library’s Microfilm Digitization Project! The project was one of four finalists featured at this year’s 20/20 Circle dinner.

The grant will help the library digitize hundreds of rolls of microfilm, preserving historical newspapers dating back to 1825. These high-quality digital images will protect valuable records from deterioration while making Carbon County’s history more accessible to researchers, educators, genealogists, students, and the public.

Thank you, Bill and Carol, for helping preserve our local history for future generations!

🦋 We’re honored to announce the new Mari Gruber Memorial Scholarship Fund, established to celebrate the legacy of the beloved “Butterfly Lady” and founder of Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary in Jim Thorpe.

The scholarship will support graduating seniors from Jim Thorpe with plans to pursue further education in science, nature, conservation, or a related field—carrying Mari’s love of the natural world forward to the next generation.

The Penn State Carbon County Chapter of the Alumni Association is hosting their annual watch party today at the West End Saloon! Some of the proceeds from today’s event go to the new Penn State Carbon County Scholarship Fund here at the Community Foundation. The new scholarship awards $500 to a graduating Carbon County high school senior who plans to attend Penn State University or one of its Commonwealth Campuses 💙🤍

The 20/20 Circle has selected Turning Point of Lehigh Valley to receive this year's $6,000 grant! 🎉

Members voted to support Turning Point's Carbon County Outreach & Education project, which will help local residents learn about available domestic violence services and support the organization's efforts to establish a satellite office in Carbon County.

We're also grateful to Bill and Carol Allison for their additional support of Dimmick Memorial Library's Microfilm Digitization Project, helping preserve Carbon County's historical newspapers for future generations.

We’re looking forward to gathering with our members for tomorrow's 20/20 Circle Annual Meeting & Grants Dinner! 💙💚

Since launching in 2018 with just 42 people, the 20/20 Circle has grown to 150+ members strong!

So how does it work?
Members make a one-time $1,000 contribution (payable over up to four years, or just $21/month), pooling their giving to support local nonprofits. Membership is for life and includes complementary tickets to the annual meeting, where members hear presentations from local organizations and vote to award that year's grant from the 20/20 Circle Fund.

Give. Gather. Make an Impact. That's what the 20/20 Circle is all about!
