A Special Delivery of Brave Boxes were taken to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City today. Max the bear, sidekick extraordinaire with the mightiest message about becoming brave is an expert at bringing smiles, cuddles and comfort, and he sure likes educating, instilling 'courage,' providing tools, empowerment, hope, inspiration and letting kids and families know that they're not alone, but the job is a tough one.

When Type 1 strikes, there is disbelief, shock, anger, fear, helplessness, pain and sorrow. There is so much to learn. So much to do. You're more scared than you've ever been in your life. Families feel lost, sad, alone, empty and overwhelmed.

Thank you to our diabetes medical teams for ensuring our kids receive exceptional medical care and treatment. We deeply appreciate your understanding that the emotional support, guidance, and tools provided by Brave Boxes are, in many ways, just as vital as insulin itself.

Our hearts are so full today! ❤️ Linda C. and the Raymore Quilt Guild dropped off 77 beautiful Max capes, and they are stunning.
