Klein Fire Department provides emergency fire protection and rescue services within Harris County

10/26/2026

This morning, the crew on Engine 38-A put in the work with dedicated Vertical Ventilation Training.

"Vertical ventilation" is a critical tactical operation on the fireground. By practicing roof cuts and coordination under controlled conditions, our firefighters hone the precision and teamwork needed to safely vent heat, smoke, and toxic gases from a burning structure. Doing that improves the visibility inside the structure, creating a safer path for teams inside.

A Legacy of Courage. A Future of Safety. We Are Harris County ESD 16, Klein Fire Department.

Good morning, Klein!

We are under a 🌬 WIND ADVISORY 🌬 through the wee hours of Saturday morning.

We are also still very much under a BURN BAN. That means NO OUTDOOR BURNING unless it is within an enclosure that contains all flames and sparks.

Enjoy the cold front. Get outside. Run. Frolic. Be merry. And remember that your friendly neighborhood Klein Fire Department will be there for you in case of emergency.

🚨 INCIDENT REPORT 🚨
Thursday, October 15, 2026
6:32 p.m.
Residential Structure Fire
Spring Creek Forest

Engine 31 and District 30 responded to a structure fire in the Spring Creek Forest neighborhood after an electrical surge ignited a fire at an exterior utility panel, which then traveled through the wiring to an outlet and surge protector inside the residence.

Responding units arrived on scene in just minutes and contained the fire swiftly, preventing any spread. We are glad to report no injuries to residents or firefighters.

⚠️ Safety Tip: Electrical surges can happen unexpectedly. If you notice buzzing sounds, burning smells near outlets, or tripped breakers after a surge, turn off your main power switch immediately and call emergency services.

Fire Prevention Month isn’t just about teaching fire safety and prevention. It’s also about imparting skills that can save lives in other ways. Recently, we visited a senior group who needed to perfect their CPR skills, knowledge and abilities. Knowing how to properly perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on someone in critical need could mean the difference between life and death until first responders arrive on the scene.

“Would you be okay if someone like you came in to save you?”

That’s the question one of our captains posed to our firefighters ahead of their training.

In emergency response, trust isn’t given – it’s built through thousands of hours of training, drill after drill, in every kind of weather. A sharp tool in the hands of a skilled, dedicated firefighter can save a life in seconds.

We train continuously so that when a neighbor – or a fellow firefighter – is in distress, we deliver the level of service you deserve and expect.
