Butts County celebrated an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for our new Butts County Fire & Emergency Services Station 9!

County leaders, department personnel, project partners, and community members gathered to turn the first shovels of dirt and celebrate this investment in public safety.

Station 9 represents part of our continued commitment to strengthening fire and emergency services to better serve the Towaligia area. This new station will support our mission of protecting lives and property while providing our personnel a place to prepare, serve, and answer the call.

Thank you to the Butts County Board of Commissioners, county leadership, Parrish Construction Group, and everyone whose planning, hard work, and support helped bring this project to this milestone.

We especially want to thank you, our citizens, for your continued support of public safety and the men and women who serve our community. We are proud to serve you!

We look forward to sharing construction updates as we work toward opening the doors of Station 9!

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting a young lady with a servant’s heart! Paislee Collier, Northeast District 4-H Junior Board Representative, visited headquarters to introduce Clothes Through Crisis, a new Butts County 4-H community outreach initiative.

Butts County Fire & Emergency Services is excited to partner with Paislee and Butts County 4-H to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to our neighbors when it matters most.

Through this program, emergency clothing kits will be carried on our apparatus to help individuals affected by house fires, accidents, and other unexpected crises.

We can’t do this alone—WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are collecting new and gently used adult shirts and pants in sizes Small–XL. Monetary donations will also help purchase packaging supplies for the kits.

Paislee’s goal is simple: support our neighbors in times of crisis while strengthening the bond between our community and first responders.

SMOKE ADVISORY — BUTTS COUNTY

We were notified today that the Georgia Forestry Commission is conducting a 400-acre prescribed burn in Jasper County. Heavy smoke is expected to affect portions of Butts County.

Residents with respiratory conditions are urged to take precautions and limit outdoor activities while smoke is present.
