We want to take a moment to recognize the staff of Henderson Middle School for their actions during today’s medical emergency involving one of their students.

To the faculty, staff, and administration of Henderson Middle School: job well done. Thank you for your quick actions, professionalism, and, most importantly, your dedication to the students entrusted to your care.

BCSS families,

On the afternoon of September 1, 2026, a Henderson Middle School student suffered a medical emergency requiring transportation by helicopter. The school was placed on a code yellow to limit movement in the building while the student received medical attention. The student is currently conscious and alert.

Due to safety requirements related to landing a helicopter, bus transportation from Henderson Middle School and Jackson High School may be delayed.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We will continue to take every necessary precaution to ensure a safe environment for everyone. We are also grateful for the quick and professional response of our first responders and medical personnel.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and concern for our students and school community.

Will Rustin
Interim Superintendent
Butts County School System

🐝🚁 Community in Action. Patient at the Center.

AE 185, The Hive, recently responded to Butts County for an emergent scene flight. A big shout out to Butts County Fire & EMS for amazing patient care.

From the moment we arrived, it was one team with one focus: do what’s best for the patient. Seamless communication and teamwork allowed ground and flight crews to work side-by-side to quickly transition the patient to the next level of care.

These moments are a reminder that emergency medicine isn’t about patches, uniforms, or agencies—it’s about communities coming together when someone needs us most.

Thank you to Butts County Fire & EMS for the outstanding teamwork and partnership.

Different crews. One team. One patient. One focus. 🐝🚑🚁

We are here 24/7

STRONGER THAN YESTERDAY — CONGRATULATIONS, JORDAN EMBRY!

A couple of months ago, we shared FF/PMDC Jordan Embry’s journey toward weight loss, better health, and becoming a stronger version of herself.

Well… Jordan didn’t stop there.

She took that same determination into competitive powerlifting with the Southern Powerlifting Federation, and today she brought home FIRST PLACE in her class in the Fire/Police/Military Division at the Georgia State Championship! 🥇🏆

Competing at 158.2 pounds in the 165-pound class, Jordan put up a 145-pound bench press and a 250-pound deadlift for a 395-pound total.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Jordan has continued putting in the work, and a big part of that journey has had the support, coaching, and encouragement of Heath and the crew at Rescue Fitness 24. Heath continues to challenge Jordan, push her beyond what she thinks she can do, and remind her that progress comes from showing up and doing the work—even on the hard days.

Jordan, your BCFES family is proud of you and everything you continue to accomplish.

Congratulations, FF/PMDC Jordan Embry — 1st Place, Fire/Police/Military Division!

Strong work. Stronger firefighter. Stronger future.
