As Indiana’s premier Emergency Services Education Center, we will create / conduct classes for you.

We offer live fire training, flashover, firefighter survival, CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Testing), SWAT tactical drills, confinement skills and more.

With a new school year comes new students at the ESEC Area 31 Firefighter 1&2 program.

They got their first taste with the confidence maze, this is to get them comfortable being in tight, hard-to-navigate spaces.

Hopefully they never find themselves in a situation where they need to use these skills, but this training will give them the confidence to successfully get themselves or others out!

COMPREHENSIVE 3-HOUR COURSE

1-Hour Classroom Session | 2-Hour Training Ground Activity

The course is designed to heighten awareness to the various types of equipment that create fire streams, and develops a basic understanding of the different types of nozzles in use today. It focuses on identifying the safe, effective GPM delivery capability of individual firefighters and companies as it relates to the limitations of equipment in use.

🔥 Maintenance Mode: Revamping Our Burn Cans! 🔥

Our live-fire burn cans see a ton of action. Because they are heavily used by so many surrounding departments, they definitely take a beating over time. We recently had the opportunity to get in there and do some much-needed maintenance and rebuilding to ensure they keep serving our area safely and effectively.

Keeping the facilities at ESEC in top shape is a priority so our local crews can train hard and train safe. Huge thanks to everyone who put in the sweat equity to get these props back in fighting shape! 🚒💪

What an incredible weekend wrapping up the Insight Fire Training: Thermal Search Class!

Hosting this right here at ESEC was an absolute success. On friday, we had a deep dive into thermal theory and strategy to Saturday’s live fire application, it was great to see everyone sharpening their skills on the training grounds.

🔥 It’s been an action-packed couple of weeks at the training grounds!

Our facilities have been running at full capacity, hosting multiple agencies. Here is a look at what’s been happening:

🏢 IFD Academy: For the last two weeks, their recruits have been hitting the tower, focusing on standpipe and high-rise operations.

🚒 Speedway Fire Department: Speedway companies were on-site conducting company drills

🔥 Greenwood Fire Academy: Greenwood recruits faced live burn evolutions, putting their classroom knowledge to the ultimate test.

It's great seeing our partners training hard and utilizing the facility to its fullest. Excellent work by all the recruits, crews, and instructors involved! 🤝
